In this tutorial I'll go over a technique I use every time I need to blend footage from different sources.
If you've ever wondered how to integrate a CG render, from 3dsMax, Maya, Houdini, etc. Or a logo, sign, etc, made by a graphic designer in Photoshop or Illustrator. And composite it into real footage without the colors looking weird, this is my method of choice.

Probably the easiest way to color match any footage. I tried it out and it works flawlessly. Was struggling on this part for a while now. Thank you for sharing

Do you know how I can make it work with the new After Effects ACES color management? Everything becomes crushed when I use it, but in regular Adobe color management (non-color managed) it works fine. 🤔

@@noisycarlos Hey Carlos. Thanks a lot for your answer! I'm on Mac and could download the AE Boss manager, though when I then wanna click on install "Match Levels" it just opens my browser and brings me to the website. Any idea?

@@danilo8468 just checked. There seems there's a bug requiring an account, which shouldn't be the case for free extensions. We'll fix it soon, but in the mean time, you should be able to workaround this by creating an account with just your name and email. EDIT: This is not necessary at all anymore (see my other comment below)

Update on this, in case you still need it. I got rid of the account and the application. You can now just download the preset directly from the website for free. Much simpler

Mannnn... with this tool i replace a long iteration over colorista or lumetri :D ... i really like it... its similar to nuke color matching :D thanks again ! PS: the multiplier parameter its a really brilliant parameter !!!

Help! My CC Power Pin effects does not affect the colors.... It just distort the img

Hi, CC Power Pin, indeed only distorts the picture. To affect the colors you need to also use the Levels filter. I recommend you use the Preset I used in the tutorial, since it comes with expressions to match the colors you pick (instead of manually adjusting the RGB values). The link is in the description. @@noisycarlos I tried your present but is not working so I done it manually with levels and colour matching but more with levels (and some colour correction) and also I cut more time the footage because light was changing 😲.. I'm asking to my self there is no mask fusion tool like in Photoshop?!?

@@AnimeBoyVFX That's odd, are you sure the Levels effect is on (I mention that you must turn it off to sample the colors, but then turn it back on), also the multiplier is set to 100%? You can try setting a crazy color on the Output White or black to test it. Either way, sorry it's not working, but I'm glad you found your way to do it. And yeah, all my preset does is add a levels with expressions that automatically set the Input and Output to the colors you select, which is absolutely doable manually, just a bit more time-consuming for me.

install is not working for me evrytime i create an account application closes automatically and i am not able to create a account or login . i cant even create an account on webste its just a blank page on website. I dont know support email so i am posting it here on yt if there is a support email do mention i will contact you there . can you help me regarding this issue?i am using win11 . And after effects 2022 version . Edit - Issue resolved.

It's possible that the expressions on the preset are conflicting with other effects you had on the layer. Try either precomping the layers before applying the preset

I don't know of additional plugins that do this, but if you follow the instructions on the video and download the preset in the description, it doesn't take that much time.

Hey just an update on this, in case you still need it. I got rid of the installer application because it was a bit of a headache (especially on MacOS). You can now just download the preset directly from the website for free. Much simpler!

Unfortunately it's specific to AE. You could always round-trip to AE and then back to Premiere

@@noisycarlos yes, unfortunately I'm doing that on a videoclip with TONS of cuts T.T I'd be easier to apply the plugin on the source clip then it'd be updated in all the cuts seamlessly...

@@DaftRebel I see. That would work. If it helps here's another idea to consider: you could do this in AE for one clip. The preset generates a 'Levels' effect with values for the red, green and blue channels. You could copy those values that were generated into another Levels effect in Premiere, then that effect you can apply to all your clips. I hope that makes sense
