Had Cambodian neighbors, Cambodian classmates, Cambodian homeboys and all I gotta say is that those dudes don’t play games if you cross em. Even my old boss who’s Cambodian had crazy ass stories about him and his family growing up in Oakland and how their family grew up. Nothing but respect for them and their culture.

I'd love to see neighborhoods getting covered in San Diego... Little Saigon and the neighboring communities. The Buddhist mourning ceremony in the hood is real. The community has a lot of intergenerational trauma. Their parents are usually boat people, refugees from the wars in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, and Burma. They went through a lot escaping their home country and escaping the violence there. Sometimes, they can't manage their trauma, and they unintentionally pass it on to their American-born kids. The kids get involved in the gangs, the gambling, and the drugs, and it's off from there.
