I just bought the N95 (regular silver version) from ebay because I couldn't afford it back in 2007 and I wanted that phone quite badly back then :)

Bought my N95 8GB around the same time this video was released. Watching it 13 years later really felt like opening a time capsule. The N95 8GB was the first really expensive smartphone that I bought with my own, hard earned money. When I brought it home and opened the box for the first time, I was literally shaking, that's how excited I was. Booting it up, I was immediately overwhelmed by the sheer truckload of features this phone offered. I spent the whole day playing around with it, and didn't even discover half of the things it could do. What a futuristic and beautiful handset, waaaaay ahead of its time and it basically wiped the floor with its gimmicky competitor, the iPhone 2G!!

Nokia was true legend, their designs was truly indigenous and impressive it was like transformers, watching this video bring me a lot of memories :')

This was such an incredible phone 10 years ago. The large screen, the massive camera and the high capacity. Probably one of the best phones back in the day. Everyone was so impressed with the video quality too. It shot DVD quality video. The only thing I didn't like was the numeric keypad. A QWERTY keypad would have been ideal. Nokia should refresh this phone with modern internals and a touch screen.

i had a Nokia n95 since 2008 till 2015 and it was a really good phone and i keep the phone i didnt sell him coz it always remeberd me on great times we had together :D

Prior to the touch screen display phones, Nokia N95 8GB was probably the best smartphone ever. I had it for more than 5 years and even now, that I do not use it anymore, it works just fine.

The N95 8gb doesn't include a memory slot but the regular N95 does - the biggest memory card I've seen compatible with this phone is 8gb. I'm worried though, in a year or so there could be a 100gb memory card available and I don't want to be stuck with a phone that can't have extra memory added. So, 8gb is the maximum on the N95 8gb and (as far as I know) for the regular N95 the biggest memory card available is 8gb (an extra $100 or so from a third party).

I'm about to buy the 8GB. The 50€ extra (compared to the normal N95) for the 8GB is nice ... And no money if you think over 2 years. Thanks for you video, it made my choice! ;)

Thanks for the review. I was looking into buying a new phone and was going to get an iphone. I woke up this morning and found the N95 (either one) to be quite a bit better.

I think the 8 gb is much nicer looking, it looks a lot more modern... I can't really explain it. The black makes it look sleek. Not to mention more expensive.

I overclocked (overclocking) my Nokia 8GB to 900Mhz and it works perfectly and extraordinary fast and godlike. Remember both Nokia N95 have DUAL CPU with ARM 11 :)

This video was added In Nov. 2007, we can't predict the future. Anyhow the firmware upgrades is only for the European version and it improves speeds, memory management, and I believe the N-gage support for the N95-1 came out as well.

I think both phones are beautiful.8gb is a lot of memory for a mobile phone so i think you have plenny of space on the phone to store data.BTW the 12gb memory card for the original N95 its good 2 but with N95 8gb you dont need memory slot caz you already have 2 much space.2 much space on the phone meens that you will use that memory full witch makes youre phone to boot slowly.

I had the n95 8gb the day it came out. glad to get ride of it. Ribbon cable connecting the screen also became damaged due the slider mechanism.

I have read that the videos, pictures, games etc that are saved directly to actual phones rather than memory cards can sometimes get wiped through no fault of the user and would have to be redownloaded and saved again for the user to watch them more times. Please note that I'm referring to mobile phones in general and NOT specifically the N95 8GB. Have you a comment?

I sold my note 3 and bought again second hand N95 8GB for like 10e, and i have never been happier. Fuck droid, i lost so many nerves with it and its lag :@ with this phone i still have almost everything android has and its way better for me because it has actual keys. Camera is so good, speakers are way better than on any android device ive had, design is perfect, just perfect phone for me. No more stress. Thank you nokia for making such a good phone.

i have problems with the navigations keys on the classic yet alone shrinking it! and as u mentioned installing applications will affect on device's speed

I have a Nokia N 95. It is really a great smartphone, a great device. I recommend it to everyone. But in my dreams a perfect device would have a battery which would last 5 days at least ( in N95 lasts only 1-2 days ), and maybe a optical pen with a virtual qwerty keyboard to write down stuff faster on it.

Just to let everyone know, I got an original N95 yesterday but it's got brand new firmware (V21.0.016) and it has all the same features as the 8GB version (other than the tiles function) including NGage, no annoying pop up menu etc. You can put a 4GB card in it too so the difference isn't as big as you may think.

you can also save your important files to the pc, the n95 8gb has a better battery and works faster , that are two things which i think are really important, and then there is the memory and the display, so the new one is better

My concern for the N95 8GB is the small buttons. Are they uncomfortable to use? I cannot imagine how somebody can be able to play next generation N-Gage games with those tiny buttons.

I work for a company that sells international phones and let me tell you, the silver N95 1 GB does not boot up that slow. Either it's damaged or it has not been updated with the newest firmware.

Please could you tell me if the nokia N95 has an infra red system to take pictures or to film?...If not does the new version N95 8G has? I ask this because i saw somewhere at the you tube - if i'm not wrong - that one of the types has the infra red mechanism..thank you so much for answering!

you can do multi tasking with the original n95. i just opened like 6-7 applications uncluding gallery. I don't knwo if this was due to the new firmware or not but you can do it. anyway great video, very useful and thanks for it.

A lot of the problems you said about the n95 such as the multimedia menu opening when you slide the phone horizontal are fixed with the NEW VERSION 20.0.015 update nokia have released. You can tell what version you have by entering *#0000#. It improves battery life, start up speed and mych more.

If you look at 2:00 there is lights on the buttons on the silver colored Nokia 95, but not on the Nokia 95 8GB. Shouldn't they also have lights so you can make a phone call in the dark?

Ok, what is it about the firmware thats different? Do the uk N95s now come with the new firmware? Do they still have 64MB ram? Also how do you print off pictures with the new version? Is the camera lens covered by scratch resistant material ala k850i? I upgraded from a k810i to k850 but am a little disappointed in the camera, and its screen function that keeps altering the brightness according to some random variable i cant figure out to be tilt or light/infrared sensor? neway which n95 is beta

I have to say the 8GB is nice, but my N95-1 does not boot that slowly. Maybe not as fast the N95-3, but certainly not as slow as yours.

i have the Newest Nokia N95 8GB an its amazin - best phone ive ever had, i love it man, an u dont have to worry about deleting pictures or videos cos ur running out of memory, being 8gb it has twice my 4gb ipod so its awesome

actually the n95 original and 8gb are made in both china AND Finland. the original n95 with the shaky sliders are the china produced ones while the one's without shaky slider are the finland ones. the are no diferences in the china 8gb and the finland 8gb

This video has all sort of things wrong. Boot time for N95 is a few seconds. You can run multiple applications on the same time just like he showed in with the N95 8GB version and access them through the shortcut menu. The N95 also has the N-Gage menu, identical to the one in N95 8GB.

The mutli-tasking you said about isnt new i had that with my nokia 3650 and my nokia 6630(which i have now) the only thing i see they've changed is showing you in the menu what you have open which is a good thing

How is there no backlighting? Nokia has changed the original blue backlight to white for the 8bg.

Besides the larger screen on the 8Gb and smaller buttons, the internal memory and possibly being a lil quicker, (I haven't gotten my hands on anyones 8Gb yet!! ) not a lot. I'm buying an 8Gb memory card for my N95 tomorrow too. I'm probably biased though......but I am waiting for the N96 to come out, not long now. :D

Nice comparison, although completely untrue!! The original N95 has newer firmware now which a) makes it start up as fast as the 8GB, b) which removes the multimedia menu when you change to landscape, c) adds all 8GB functionality eg ngage program and 8GB menu structure too, d) lets you run as many apps as the 8GB (I followed you running apps with my original N95) And 16GB microsd cards are coming out soon. N95 > 8GB.

I loved the n95 cause my uncle had it and the close able camera is cuter cool but I ended up getting the 8gb version cause it was the newer one. I did not regret it at all. Had a great time with it and it was awesome as a first phone for me.

Who ever has got the classic version of Nokia N95, good news is that you can use Sandisk 16 gb micro sd sdhc card. If you have Nokia N95 8gb, then you can't because that doesn't have the micro sd slot.
