A new video from our new subchannel, to help Nokta Makro Simplex+ owners get started on the wonderful journey of Simplex detecting. The Nokta Makro Simplex+ is a fantastic machine, able to detect deeply and accurately, but it does need tuning to discriminate out the unnecessary signals.
I can help you set up your Simplex+ to get the best out of it, in any situation. I also understand what it is like to be a new detectorist, with new terminology, new techniques, and many, many opinions offered to you about how to do this hobby best. Let's cut through all of this, go back to basics, and learn about the Simplex+.
This video goes through:
1. Turning it on- 3:39 minutes
2. Ground Balancing- 5:20 minutes
3. Sensitivity choice- 3:52, 16:00 minutes
4. Programme choice- 5:55, 9:18, 16:00 minutes
5. Determining Iron 7:05, 7:39, 8:16 minutes
6. What does a good signal sound like? 8:38 minutes
7. Pinpointing with the Simplex+- 10:43 minutes
8. Interference chatter with other devices- 12:42 minutes
9. Mute button- 13:10 minutes
10. Headphones and Pulsedive pinpointer- 13:35 minutes
11. Programme and sensitivity effects- 16:00

i have sat through loads of videos on the Simplex+ but can honestly say yours has been the most informative and easy to understand of them all. They are concise and at a pace everyone can follow. i have just purchased mine on the strength of your videos and compared to the Garrett it wins hand over fist. It is light, good looking and overall a winner. i will definitely follow your channel from now on. Keep up the good work.

Great videos. Thank you. I've got a simplex too and I think it is a really great machine. I am 65 and searching since I was 14. Began with an analog machine followed by many others. Also had a few digital detectors. They all found beautiful things but the Simplex talks more to me than the detectors I've had. The update 2.78 brought more silence to me. It lessened chatter. With the new sp24 coil also a sharp as a knife combo. Have a great time with your simplex.! Sorry about my bad English 😕

I know this is a bit basic for most of our subscribers, hence the separate channel. But also thought we should keep our original subscribers in the loop of what Lori has been up to! Thanks for watching BC, I miss talking to you on the livestreams. :)

Great video Laurie. You are very right, the simplex is a nightmare when you first get it switched on. Perseverance pays off though as you know. I've had mine since its launch last year and I'm still learning it. My finds are getting much better and I've virtually stopped digging deep iron (unless its that singing signal which I can't resist!!). I found my first gold with it yesterday during a day out at the seaside (first after lockdown) and was over the moon! I've also had some nice relics whilst out on club digs and a few lizzie coins from my paddocks. It all adds to making me want to go out and dig some more and every time I have a find, it makes me realise how brilliant the simplex actually is. I have other detectors but the simplex is my go to machine now. Thanks for the video. Keep safe.

Congrats on your Gold Andrew, I haven't passed that milestone yet, but it's more down to where I live being so impoverished, no one in the past had much gold in the Highlands! The beaches might do, but I'm more than 5 miles from them, so no go just the now. Soon though, very soon! You've done great with your finds, it's wonderful when you get past the iron digging stage and can really understand what the Simplex is saying to you. Happy hunting!

Hi Andrew I’m just curious what was the nightmare part ? Not to be rude just truly curious I received mine the other day and I was actually surprised how smoothly my first time using it went and I’m as much of the turn on and go type as you can get I’ve heard that its too unstable at the high gain levels by some but I’ve found mine to be acceptable not too much chatter

@@treasurehuntingnewyork5979 i was used to using my aged whites spectrum xlt which i had owned for nearly 20 years. Swapping to the simplex was a whole new ball game as it was much quicker with totally different tones and numbers. I found that it picked things up much deeper than the xlt but also gave a 'good' signal, even on iron. Until I began to learn the tones and ignore the numbers I pretty much dug everything and as you can imagine there was LOTS of junk. I think I was expecting to have to tune it as much as the whites and hadn't realised how much technology had moved on inside detectors and you could simply switch it on and swing it. I can happily say now its so easy to use as long as I don't try and over think things and simply listen to what its telling me. Hope this helps. Cheers

Treasure Hunting New York, thanks for your comment. It’s great you got on so well with the Simplex first time. I’m wondering if you were an experienced detectorist rather than a newbie? I know Andrew isn’t new, but the Simplex can be overwhelming to folk new to detecting. It might also be your soil and where you detect. Some permissions I have, I could turn it on in field 7, and the simplex would make a sound til she found something. If this was my only experience detecting, I’d be confused about others comments on the Simplex chatter. Some of my permissions are FULL of junk, aluminium, iron, crisp packets, Xmas chocolate foils, you name it. If I tried field 7, it would be deafening, Some of my permissions are ok on signals but have tall grass and weeds that love to cause falsing , again field 7 is a no go. You are very lucky in your soil, or very very skilful, that the simplex is quiet for you from the outset, you are doing something very right! :D

3 Tones & the Truth I’ll humbly state that I am no way an expert but I do have 4 years experience in I guess I’d say rough digging conditions guess I chose a trial by fire but I’ve come a long way from chasing micro trash ghost signals and questioning myself Over false signals and chatter and I’ve owned several different units from old quartz’s crystal circuit analog detectors ( of wich I am still very fond of for there second to none iron discrimination) to the more modern vanquish and now the mighty simplex I’ve even owned some uncommon units fisher 1280x and detectorpro pirate unit and I’ve found that no matter the unit if it’s in proper working order one can yield good finds by learning the unit but once I got my vanquish ( wich will be buried with me upon my passing) I realized what I had left behind I was actually able to recover several small deep non ferrous targets several other units missed at a location I’ve hunted many times so there absolutely is something to be said about new technology and yes for the uninitiated the chatter of the simplex might be confusing for sure nothing a reduction in the gain can’t fix I’m sure

Level 4 or 5 sensitivity and zero ground balance will make the simplex + as quiet as the grave on a beach and give great depth!

For the life of me I believe there is a trick shown on YT on how you can go to beach mode and manually raise the discrimination above Ninety Three and it eliminates the unwanted effects of wet mineralized wet sand and the higher you go up it cleans up the static but you loose depth? The problem is I am not quite sure it was the simplex or another machine this was done too but I am over sixty percent believing that it was the simplex this process was shown. I will have to experiment to find out, this "Planed Demic" against all humans has thrown my detecting game off because of what they are doing world wide and the importance of this "Event" Thanks for your demonstration and helpful footage, every little bit helps. One thing for sure if you ever find yourself on a site that is totally loaded with iron and your detector sounds like a machine gun, switch to beach mode and try that, it worked for me so I could pick out some targets.

Diggin Diggen It I posted a reply to you, but it’s gone pooft and disappeared! I saw a livestream that Dilek from Nokia Makro did, and she advised of a way to set ground balance above 90. I think it used all metal mode, but I could be wrong. If you find the video you mentioned, please share it on here, I’d love to see it too! Let me know what helps you on sand, I’m sure you already know the go in beach then kick detector over to field or park for better performance? I’m sure you already use that trick. Let me know how you get on, Happy Hunting :)

@@3tonesthetruth962 for the life of me I can't remember who posted that video and Still I am not one hundred percent sure it pertained to the simplex, I am only like sixty five percent that it pertained to the simplex and not another machine, this was quite some time ago but I will see if I can find the video.

Hey 3 Tones thanks for the great tutorial. Before I do a purchase , I have a metal implant in my big toe. Will this be a issue for me to sweep the coil across?
@3tonesthetruth962
@3tonesthetruth962 4 жыл бұрын
SunsTo7 Hi Suns, May I ask if you have had any detector since the implant? Also, may I ask how large the I plant is, and what it is made of? I could do some tests for you, if I knew. I don’t think it should be an issue, and my basis is that I wear Scarpa hiking boots with metal eyelets, and I have never have an issue with the coil seeing them. I sometimes use them to check the coil in a particularly quiet field! If your implant is particularly large, you might need to modify your step or swing, or use sensitivity level 6. Again, if you let me know your implant type and size, I could try a test for you? Hope this helps :)
