This year was the first time I looked at new detectors is 12 years. After buying the Garrett AT Pro for water hunting I was totally happy with it for land and water. I glanced to see what advancements had been made and seen the Notka Simplex priced under 300.00, waterproof and really a capable machine. I was set to buy one just for fun at this price, but as always ended up doing a lot of research. It came down to the Simplex Ultra at around 300.00 or the Xterra Pro at 269.00. I ended up with the Xterra Pro because it had 5 frequencies and I'm biased toward Minelab. Going to enjoy seeing how the Ultra works.

I'm looking at this as a backup. Thanks for live digging and stating the VDI's! Again, you're awesome!

I bought the Ultra and love it and then I got the Xterra Pro and it kicks ass too! I take them both out and they are contenders for the tag-team belts!

If there was a job metal detecting it'd be my dream job. Who wouldn't want to go relax all day digging. Can't wait to see how the nokta performs considered one before i got the Xterra pro. Hard to beat a minelab from what I've seen but guess it depends on the type of detecting you're doing. Me personally i hunt old coins which needs good depth and the ability to work in iron infested areas. Although I've been eyeing the kiddie playground at my local park after watching you. Enjoy watching it really.

I like the sound of the tones on that 1 better than the other one that other 1 irritated My last nerve like a nail is on a chalkboard. That's why I got rid of it. It also is much quieter in between signals.

I'm sorry to be negative, but to me, being very sound sensitive, the Simplex sounds really bad and is a complete no-go for me.

LOWER your sensitivity and recovery to get even better VDI
