For the record, as a reader for a decade and a half, Skypiea has ALWAYS been absolutely GOATed and I am forever confused by the people that seem to think it's some tragically boring or uninteresting arc.

There's a couple reasons a lot of people don't like Skypeia. One is because it's sandwiched between two of One Piece's greatest sagas, so that takes away from it a bit. Another reason is that it's very removed from the rest of the world and feels very isolated in a story where one of it's greatest strengths is the intricate world building. The third is that for a long time, the events of Skypeia felt like they were unimportant and the story was seen as canon filler by a lot of people. For the record, I've always liked Skypeia, and this isn't me making these arguments for it being bad, this is me listing the most frequent reasons I've been told it's bad by it's detractors. I wouldn't put Skypeia in my top 5 One Piece arcs, but I've always thought it gets far more hate than anything in One Piece should.

Skypia for me is better then Alabasta. People are just tripping on it. I think the only negative part for me was the Satori fight because that guy was supper annoying. Long Ring Long Land is comedy genies, not for everyone, but its one of the funniest arcs.
