The Nomad Grill and Smoker is a premium ($$$), ultra portable, charcoal grill and smoker from the fine folks over at NOMAD Grills. You already know I had to buy this thing when it popped up on my instagram feed, and today we're testing it out with some backyard wagyu burgers and I'll give you my initial impressions!

Thanks for the video review! People that are hating on the price need to realize that everything is relative. I have the $ to buy things I think are cool and will make me happy. For simple things that just serve a purpose I might buy cheap or make myself. BUT---am I right that you may have used the less preferred side for the charcoal? I thought I saw some angle iron looking ridges on the other side as if there to raise up the coals for air flow? Good luck Ben! Come up to the PNW to see some real mountains :)

Two questions - can you put the charcoal in it while you carry it around/transport it without mess? Do you absolutely need a chimney starter for the charcoal?
@BenStinnett
@BenStinnett 2 жыл бұрын
Hey Jeff! I’ve found that carrying lump charcoal in it leads to a bit of charcoal dust spilling out, and trying to carry ashes or used charcoal leads to more spillage. The chimney is definitely not required, I just think it’s useful!

Thanks for sharing 🤗 Terrible idea for portability, I imagine it's a mess to clean up when your done? I imagine charcoal would spill all over the place if you pack it while transporting it for a cookout? At the hefty price of over 600+ It's not worth it unless you want to impress your friends and look like an executive cook, Do I have to wear a suit it tie with this Breifcase Grill 🤔

Sorry, this thing dumps debris and used material. It's a terrible design. Like who thought a briefcase with holes was a good way to transport loose soot. Don't think about placing this into a vehicle after using it, it will scatter ash all about your car or SUV. I like your approach, but realistically this is garbage.
