Shadow of the Colossus - Cenobia at Stonehenge

I think this would have to be my most ambitious video yet! It took weeks of work to complete requiring all my experience gained over the long years I have been interested in this game.
Note: It's not possible to 'fight' Cenobia this far away from its native arena, at least I don't know how to do it... all I can do is make Cenobia run around G7, and even then I have to keep changing its up/down coordinates to match the terrain as there are no collisions here. When I bring Wander and Agro to G7 they are stuck and cannot move... frozen like statues.
If you could trick the game into thinking G7 (Stonehenge) was C2 (14th arena) then it might be possible, but for now that is beyond my skill set.

There’s something about the introduction to this video that grabs my soul. It highlights the little touches of architecture and sound design that the programmers put into this game. For those quick minutes, it wasn’t just a level in a game, it was a slice of history that I was lucky to be given the opportunity to study. Shadow was a special game, and Nomad is the special person who opened my eyes to it.

Nomad really is the master in this game. I could never imagine it would be possible to remove Cenobia from its arena. If I could, I would double like this video. Nomad deserves all “likes” possible.

Amazing to hear the eerie stomps and noises Cenobia makes slowly making its way through the quiet land, not being bombarded by the amazing battle music but instead just quiet winds and the stomps of the powerful, muscular, brute lion colossus known as Cenobia.

Makes me wonder how he'd interact with Celosia and Sirius. They're pretty much the same Colossus, albeit a tiger (Celosia), a lion (Cenobia), and a boar (Sirius), you'd think they'd run around the fields and play fight like siblings?

@@lucasfraczek4320 that's a cute idea, ig it's fun to think about it but even if that would 90% not happen if you tried reproducing that idea, they're certainly not programmed to walk, run and sit on the same spots, so it might be interesting to watch they do wathever together in a big spot, even if nothing big happens

That was a beautiful intro Nomad. Truly something else what you are doing with this game. Appreciate your work and dedication as always. I wish there was more recognition to give to ya. Seeing Cenobia run free kinda makes you wonder what it would of been like to fight Sirius. Without any boundaries it might of been more tense!

Man this is incredible, Thank you so much for letting us see this wonderful video, It's amazing to see Cenobia run in places that is not supposed to be. I have a few questions and if you or someone could answer I'll be very grateful. 1. Can it go to more places than G7? 2. Does it have an animation of a attack or something for when there's no one to attack? Like wander that swings his sword or something like that. 3. Does Cenobia run as fast as Agro? Or does Cenobia run faster than Agro? And last one: Can you do all this with the other ones? I would love to see it! That's all! Thank you for reading me and I'm sorry if my english is bad.

Answers: 1) Technically I can put Cenobia (or any other colossus) in any other place in the forbidden lands - or even outside the world map 2) Yes, it still maintains all it's normal movements (animations) no matter where it is 3) Agro runs much faster than Cenobia, check out this video of Cenobia and Agro 'walking'. (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gp5giKWrqN3dlqM.html#t=9m37s) Based on this, there is no doubt Agro is much faster! 4) Yes, as mentioned above I can do this for all the colossi, but it takes a lot of work - long hours over days - very hard to do. But the results are worth it. These videos are a testament to all the hard work I have put into this game - and I hope they last for a long time ; )

You won't find this in the game as I've moved Cenobia down there by hacking the game. I know some people don't like this sort of thing, but I like to play around with the game and see what's possible ; )

2021 and i think is might be a forget to delet problem. Or they simple dont want to discard the work has being done in the arena. Or maybe delete that specific part of The scenario may crash some functionaly... I dont know man, differents times, differents tools and also different ways of thinking in development games.

Great video as always nomad. I always thought that Sirius was indeed quite bigger than both cenobia and celosia. By the way, Sony will go to PGW2017 and host an event there. Good work Nomad! Now I have a thought... Since you are able to move terrain to your own specific coordinates, maybe in order to get the game to think that G7 (Stonehenge) was C2, you could maybe somehow toggle the terrain which Cenobia fights at and move it just under the terrain at G7 and when cenobia is on top of it, the game will act as though he is still at C2 and will be able to move around that moved territory. Now I'm unsure as to how much you are able to move around, I don't know if you are able to move JUST the ground of C2's territory, but if you can, maybe it's worth a shot? I'm not sure.

The only thing that works (kind of) is if I move the G7 terrain landscape models to C2 (Cenobia's arena). I did this once before - I took land (ironically from G7) and moved it to E6 (Phalanx's arena) - so it looked like Wander was seeing Phalanx flying over green fields. But the problem was that the landscape doesn't match the terrain, so Wander would sink into the ground etc. See here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g59jo89muL62gKM.html#t=55m15s As you can see, the problem is the collisions - If I could extract the collision data from G7 and move it to G2 (or reverse), then we would have something special - I could fight a colossus at any place in the forbidden lands. But as it is, I am limited to what I did in this video.

Do you know where the unused Collossi would have been? I imagine the places you would fight them still exist in the map and I've always wondered what those areas look like.

Do you measure Wander as 1.8 meters? Compared to the Horses all human characters are really short in this game. In the medieval times I also hear its normal for people to be shorter, depending on where you are in the world. And considering this looks more medieval it would make sense.

In the video description you will find my blog post about the colossi sizes - there are two scales - the in game (programmed scales) and what I call the 'real world' scales, that is if the colossi were actual living creatures. The colossi sizes have also been contentious and a real pain for me to pin down. But I'm happy with these final results.

There's nothing behind that door - just empty space. It was never meant to be a door sadly, it's just a weird looking indentation in the side of the temple, nothing more.
