Its funny to think about what kind of questions would have been made about these early games if they would have the actual knowledge there is. There is just so much in contrast to back then, I remember being completly confused about the storytelling of CoM, but also....SO CURIOUS.

The only part of Days that links to the phase two story (I class the post-KH2 games as phase two) is the cutscene where Xigbar sees Xion as Ventus. I don’t know if this was in the DS version or added for the movie.

It was in the DS version as well. Those of us who played it on the DS were so confused lol.

I refer to the first phase (KH1-KH2) as "The Ansem Arc" as those games are largely focused on the identity and motivations of Ansem. Phase two (post KH2) is focused on the identity and motivations of Xehanort, so I call that part "The Xehanort Arc".

Hockey Swauk Days is a funny one to classify like that because it’s set during the same time as Chain of Memories, or at least the early part of the game is, and Days goes back to Castle Oblivion at certain points. Yet in terms of release it’s distinctly in the first wave of post-KH2 games (Days, re:coded and Birth by Sleep).

So BBS only was conceptualized on late development of KH2

MrBowser It have had to have been. Vanilla Kingdom Hearts 2 has the secret movie “the gathering” which directly hints at Birth by Sleep (which was believed to be Kingdom Hearts 3 for a while). It wouldn’t have been conceived early on, as the cutscenes relating to Birth by Sleep were added to the Final Mix.

Honestly, KH2 felt like a conclusion more than KH3, KH3 just kept showing that things are not done even with the ending for the Dark Seeker saga while KH2 showed how it ended with Org13 but it may have not be finished.

You ever stop and think that maybe thats what nomura intended to do with kh3 i mean the ending was still good and of course it showed us things that arnt done it just opens doors for a new journey like nomura said kh3 is not the last game just the end of the xehanort saga

@@lightning13clair29 I know it is not, but KH2 manage to show us that things did end but it is not over yet in a better way, and that is because during the game there were new mysteries that start to appear with time out of nowhere, that is just my opinion. I am not saying KH3's ending is bad, but rather KH2's was handled in a better way.
