This Arc is probably one of the ones most rewritten, its not a spoiler that character hat is Moonwalking at the end is not Ussopus Father. This arc also probably gets the most debate in the community as to which version is preferred. but there are reasons of length and effects budget which are given to explain this. As I may have mentioned his name translates as Liar but is a pun on Aesop the Fable teller. Personally I think Ussoppu has an interesting and important part in the story, he has seemingly no apparent powers and symbolizes a "normal " person in many ways this is like you as a person entering into a story (not dissimilar to a Dr Who companion) and explains feeling scared and unsure about events but ultimately gaining the courage to overcome.
