there's actually a prequel cinematic that shows what happened to yone after yasuo killed him and why he looks so diff and hunting demons, the demon we saw is called an azakana who feed on negative emotions of people (like this one feeding on yasuo's guilt), but there are larger demons like evelynn and tahm kench that also feed on specific emotions, with ofc the big granddaddy demon being fiddlesticks, the primordial demon of fear.

LONG COMMENT ALEART To understand this cinematic you need to understand Yasuo and Yone's stories. Yasuo and Yone are brothers, specifically half-brothers. Yasuo was the bastard son of Yone's mother and another man, and because he was so looked down on, he always felt like he had something to prove, and with both their fathers absent from their lives, Yone had to be Yasuo's primary male role model. Fast forward to the Noxian Invasion, and Yone is leaving to fight on the front lines while Yasuo, having mastered a legendary wind technique, is left behind to defend his master. Yasuo goes to fight anyways, and returns to the monastery to find his master dead. Yasuo is blamed for Souma's death, so he goes looking for a way to clear his name before being confronted by Yone in a duel. Yasuo is forced to kill Yone, thus sending Yone's spirit to the spirit world. Then theres a bunch Ionian beliefs, spirit world stuff and more explained in a short story and another cinematic called "The Path an Ionian Myth". TLDR Yone's soul almost gets trapped in an endless cycle, but before the loop can be closed, he gets intercepted by a special kind of spirit called an Azakana. Azakana are the lowest form of demon in Runeterra, Yone fights back and kills the Azakana, but is revived in the real world with the Azakana's mask attached to his face, neither living nor wholly dead. Yone is now hunting these Azakana in the hopes that by trapping them in their own masks, he can understand what he himself has become, This was all leading up to Yone's release during the spirit blossom event that League had last year, which was a major lore event. I've seen a lot of comments that explain most of what you need to know so I'll add this small piece too. The reason Yasuo trusted the old man is a Respect for Elders in Ionian (based off of Eastern) culture. The reason he was there was for the Spirit Blossom festival that was held every year aside from a few years during the invasion of Noxus to Ionia. It was Thwarted and the land began healing. These Spirit Blossoms give you a connection to the Spirit Realm which is sort of like the path to the next life. You have to find the blossom that houses the soul you wish to commune with and acts almost like therapy for those who have lost people. There was a lot of people due to the amount of death the failed invasion caused, but Yasuo was there due to having killed his brother. Then the reason why Yasuo wasn't facing the Demon and was facing Yone was because Yasuo was still running from his past mistakes. The Azakana was feeding on his Negative emotions of the past and was a physical manifestation of it story wise. When he learns to stop running from his past and to face it head on is when he faces the Azakana, and the past helps drive him seeing as Yone is there to support him. It's also a nice parallel to in game where Yasuo is able to use his Ultimate ability on targets knocked up into the air and Yone has an Ultimate that knocks numerous people up into the air. Yone is a supporting character for Yasuo and his coming to terms with his past and finally moving on.

Another cinematic video that goes with this one is "The Path, an Ionian Myth." This one is shorter but follows the brother Yone.

The woman talking to Yasuo at the end was Ahri, the nine-tailed fox from the cinematic The New Dawn.

Both Yasuo and Yone, and the lady that appears at the end (Ahri) are characters from the game. Yasuo and Yone are brothers, and Yasuo was tasked to protect the elder of their samurai school, but as their nation, Ionia, was at war, Yasuo wanted to go to war and fight there to prove himself. He left the elder, and the elder got killed by another character, and now everyone thinks Yasuo killed him, including his own brother Yone. So Yone and Yasuo fought (the beginning of the video) and Yasuo killed Yone. Yone became a spirit hunter after death and Yasuo kept running away even though he didn't kill the elder. Also the moves they showed during fights are taken from the game, it's their fighting style. About the Spirit blossom festival, it happens in Ionia every year I think. And it's the time when living can communicate with the dead because the door to the spirit world opens. That's what Yasuo was trying to do when he went with that little old guy who turned out to be a demon. Ionia is the nation based on Japanese culture, where people and creatures live in harmony with nature and spirits. In the end Yasuo has nothing left waiting for him in Ionia so he leaves the country for Bilgewater with Ahri. The next thing that happens is related to the Ruined King saga.

Not many people can actually make good reaction videos, so I'm really happy that you are on of those chosen few :) May I recommend you watch the cinematic "A night at the inn" (Probably along with "None escape" to give the former a little context) and "Double-Double-Cross"? They are cinematics focused mostly on world building and there are obviously more of them, though these three are arguably my favourites :^) Another good one is "A New Dawn" which probably has the best representation of actual gameplay out of all the cinematics.

a few things to note here, Yasuo, did not notice the old man had turned into an asakana (demon). He was under the effects of the drink. And Asakana is a creature that feeds on dark emotions and grows in power. Yasuo called the man Ofa in Ionia that means elder or grandad. In Ionia people are generally very friendly. There is a lot of lore that is going on in this video.

The old man was a spirit that feeds on negative emotions like guilt (Azakhana), with the ultimate goal of consuming their host and becoming demons. Specifically he was feeding on Yasuo, which is why he became more monstrous as Yasuo became more distressed and guilty. And like a good older brother, Yone (who's dealt with his own Azakhana/guilt) came to rescue him.

One of my favorite games I played was the Legacy of Kain series. There are 5 games total and they tell an epic story about vampires. It was some of the first games I played that showed me a video game can have a great story.

Yasuo , Yone and this girl on the end, Ahri. They are all playable characters in the game. The full thing would be, Yasuo an Yone, brothers training in Ionia in the school of samurai's of the wind. Get invaded by noxus big bad. Yone goes to war Yasuo should protect their master, he doesn't, and everyone think he killed him. Yone goes after Yasuo, they fight, Yasuo wins, Yone gets in a fight in the spiritual world against a demon of emotions, his demon of bad emotions. Wins. Gets revived as this demon hunter. Finds Yasuo and this old man who is Yasuo's demon of bad emotions, and then the video happens and stuff. Ahri and Yasuo goes to bilgewater, land of pirates, to setup a new game they are going to release: The ruined king. And if you want to see the lore behind the ruined king, all the events and cinematic behind is the ruination event.

League also has music videos with a lot of the female characters called KDA, they are a pseudo-kpop group, and they have STUNNING visuals that really help give a personality to the characters! They also have Worlds trailers that give a lot of cool visuals to match how pros train and play, similar to little short stories for the players for that year. Would love to see you react to either!

Happy to see two people already filled in allot of the blanks. But basically to understand this story better you're missing a video that actually came out before this one it's called: "the path an Ionian myth" Here you learn what happened to Yone in the afterlife. The girl at the end is Ahri, she's basically a kitsune... In LoL lore she's *the* kitsune. A nine tailed fox. When Yasuo leaves Ionia he becomes her bodyguard. Some context that I haven't seen in the comments yet, and that isn't provided in the prequel video is: Yasuo is a disgraced swordsman because he was meant to protect his Master during the Noxian invasion of Ionia. The reason Yone said he already failed Yasuo is because Yasuo wanted to go to fight on the frontlines and prove himself, instead of doing his duty and protecting the master. Yasuo left for the frontlines and when he came back.... Well his master was dead. Killed by Riven (the girl in the arena in the awaken video). Yasuo mastered the Wind style of sword fighting, this is why at the end of the fight before leaving Yone says "Even the wind has a path, brother" Before continuing with videos i really think it'll be a good idea to watch the "Tales of Runeterra" videos first so you have more context. Two trailers you should check out are the ruined king announcement and launch trailers. Without getting into to much detail it involves Yasuo and Ahri while they’re in bulgewater along with some cool things. It’s kinda hard to describe without spoiling but I recommend heckling them out if you can.

Yasuo is a older charecter and yone is a newer character who came out with the event, spirit blossom. The girl at the end is ahri the nine tailed fox. The little guy is a asakana or a demon born from human emotions. He was born from yasuos emotions of greef and yone is a hunter who kills the demons. Yasuo didn't fight it right away cause he had to confront his feelings first then when he did they fought together and won.

Never actually notice before, but you can see Ahri behind Yasuo the moment Yasuo bump the the ionian demon disguised as the old man at 4:35

Some inside, people don´t get angry for others talking during the video, its that they talk and miss important stuff because they talk and look at the camera, later they don´t get something and blade the video for not showing. but what you did there was great, repeating the part were you got distracted, if you want a lot of more viewers, make sure you don´t ignore the video to much like many others do. remember these people are very passionate for that particular content, ignoring it, or parts of it is the problem

So the relevant back story to the brothers is Yassuo (the main character for this cinematic or big ponytail man) and Yone (his older brother) were famous disciples of a famous swordmaster training to become essentially protectors of the land. At some later point, for reasons too long to get into, Yassuo is believed to have killed his master and is on the run. We see when the brothers fought and Yassuo kills his brother in the intro and the old man was a demon that basically feeds off negative emotions like fear and doubt. The half-spirit half-human Yone returns to the mortal plane to hunt these demons.

5:10 Having a shoulder protection on one side was usually seen by archers to protect them from beeing shot as they ready to fire (i a way more practical approach way smaller and so on). In this case i would say looking at his stance its can do the same thing since your "week" side / non attack arm is exposed to the opponent for any kind of range attack. But thats the reality cause of something like this. In game design its mostly optics to different the characters, since you see them from quite a distance and trough all the effects. having special visual markers to instant recognize a character is realy meaningfull since you can prepare counter messures. also for turnament purpose its easier for audience and casters to follow along what happening on the field.

alright ill break some stuff down. The two main characters are yasuo (pony tail man) and Yone (older brother and demon masked guy), they are siblings who train at a monastery learning to master the wind blade sword techniques. Yasuo is a genius and often outshines his older brother despite the elders intense work ethic. Yasuo is therefore assigned to be a protector for one of the older mentors of the monastery since his physicality has waned alot, however at the time a war had been started by the military state of noxus and they had begun a terrible invasion of the brothers home country, Ionia. Yasuo wants to leave and fight but yone (in typical older brother fashion) is obsessed with duty and since their duty is to the monastery he forbids it. Yasuo decides fuck that and leaves to fight, becoming kind of a legendary figure and war hero. While he is gone though his elder, elder souma, was killed and the investigation reveals that he was killed with a wind based attack and the only one known at the time is the one taught at the monastery. Since yasuo left he is accused of the crime and yone goes to hunt him down. Yasuo eventually is accused and goes on the run to avoid being captured for a crime he didnt commit but is insistant on finding the killer so he remains in ionia to seek revenge and because he doesnt really want to leave the home he just risked his life to defend. Yone catches up and after years of resentment is unwilling to listen to yasuo so they fight and yone is killed. Yone then awakes in the spirit realm and is about to be eaten by his azakana. Azakana are demons that are birthed from negative emotions and yones is born from his years long resentment of his genius brother (yasuos is the old man and is born from his guilt over having to kill his own brother). Yone, stubborn as ever, kills his azakana rather than being devoured and as a result is reborn into the physical realm with the mask of the azakana on his face and a new blade that can exorcize the azakana. Yone having litteraly and metaphorically slain his demons now travels ionia freeing people of their own personal azakana. This story is the first time we get to meet yone but yasuo and his story is some of the most popular stuff in the league of legends ip and has been around since about 2013. Eventually it is revealed that a noxian defector by the name of riven (another character) was the one who really killed yasuos master and he is free of his own burdens and the accusations against him so he feels it is finally time to leave the nation of ionia and find a new purpose. The one on the boat at the end was Ahri (my favorite character!) she is a vastaya, or an animal person whos ancestors had deep connection to nature magic, with the form of a 9 tailed fox woman based on the kitsune or kumiho mythologies. She has a deep backstory too but I wont go into that, but it is a good pair with yasuo at the end because she is in a similar state of mind, out in the world looking for purpose.

Hi! I just stumbled across your channel and i love it! Considering you're liking your LoL stuff and you also are a writer, i think you might like Legends of Bilgewater. They are like 5-6 "videos" which are audio dramas about lore of bilgewater, the "pirate" zone from LoL. They are amazingly well written and voice acted, and i think not many people have seen them. That's my recommendation. Love the vids, keep it up!

Definitely recommend watching The Climb, Senna: Shadow's Embrace, and New Dawn cinematics by League of Legends really awesome and epic trailers especially the New Dawn one!

If your interested in the story. Yasuo was chosen from his village to learn a ancient wind art by an elder and was accused of murder. A lady, Riven, wanted her cursed blade destroyed so she came to the elder but doing so killed him and yasuo was accused of killing his master. Yasuo ran away from Ionia looking for a purpose and was hunted down by his brother Yone, who trained in dual-wielding to match Yas’s wind technique. After the brothers fight Yone dies and goes to some spirit realm where he faces his past and merges with a demon called a Azakana and having its mask permanently on his face gaining the demon’s powers. Yone now has repented with his past looking at the big picture and hunting down Azakana, the old man in the video was one, before they get too powerful. Azakana feast on people’s emotions feasting on people when they feel a specific emotion strongly such as one of the seven deadly sins. That’s about as much as I know I might have missed somethings but the lore of league is pretty interesting.

Remember kids: never follow your inner demon to a second location, and definetly don't take any drinks they offer you.

Another side note, azakanas are low-tier demons, the red mask that yone has is actually an azakana that tried to feed on him but ended up being controlled by yone, high tier demons are champions itself like Fiddlesticks ( HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIS CINEMATIC PLS) the demon of fear Evelyn - the demon of lust Tamh Kench - the demon of avarice/gluttony (HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIS CINEMATIC AS WELL) Apart from then are the Darkin which are inspired by the four horsemen, we currently have 3, Aatrox, Varus and Rhaast ( last one being attached to Kayn another champion, really interesting lore). There's kind of other demon which is nocturne but he was kinda left alone, he's basically Freddy Kruger (attacked people in their sleep)

I know that this probably has been mentioned already, but League has also spawned several music bands consisting of various charachters from the game, and the MVs are AMAZING. Namely, the K/DA, of course, but the others are incredible as well, highly recommend watching and/or probably reacting. Riot got so into music that they actually formed a separate music division to record and promote all these things. Also, you should probably watch VALORANT cinematics and Arcane tv trailer, since you’re going through Riot’s stuff :)

It's Ahri, the nine tailed fox, at the end. Even though I do wonder how she's hiding the tails. She's one of the first champions so deputed in one of the old trailers; although she appears in quite a lot of others. Although it's rarely mentioned in the trailers, her lore is kindoff dark though as she killed a lot of peoples to eat their souls. But at current time she is considered more mentally stable. The old man is a Azakana, or Demon, but Yasuo didn't know it Yasuo thought that Yone (demon hunter and future champion of the game) was trying to murder the old man, so he was trying to defend the elder before he figured out that the elder was a demon

He is running away looking for redemption after his master died and everyone tought he killed him. thats why he ends up fighting his own brother. The demon actually represents his "inner demon" thats why he says " as long as he lives i will always return" . his brother merges with his own inner demon after he dies and becomes this demon hunter creature .

Okay this video is the redemption of Yasuo and reveal of Yone for the game. Yasuo was considered a traitor that killed his master and in his pursuit he killed his brother who is send to kill him but yone never won a fight against Yasuo and he know he gonna lost. In the reunition of the spirtual helm know as Spirit Blossom Yasuo is seeking redemption for his acts against his brother. But he don't know that old man is a Azakana, a demon who's feed from negative emotions. The demon make him see the past and see his pain (the drink part). What he don't know is that Yone already come back as Azakana himself. Born from a azakana of Hate of himself. And unified with this demon Yone hunts another azakanas to free the people tormented. The video is the end of the torment of Yasuo, knowing hes finally free of guilt and pain and know he's trying to find a new path to himself. Oh and in the end on the boat Is Ahri. Yasuo's lore is the best for me, the reason I like the character the most and why I am playing him the most. You should read his lore and some other "comics" on the league lore page, I bet you will like it

I have read the lore but I think theres an element most people are missing. The reason why Yasuo(ponytail dude) protects the demon is a bit deeper than what we see on the surface. That demon feeds off the guilt that Yasuo feels for killing his brother. This is why the demon said even if it dies itll return so long as yasuo lives. The only true way for the demon to die would be for Yasuo to move past his guilt. I think this represents the idea that sometimes people protect or cover up their demons because Its easier than facing them.

Yasuo's pony tail is so huge you could push him around by the legs like a mop.

Hey Hannah, you should watch the Star Guardian cinematics, which are a skin line from League of Legends inspired by Sailor Moon and other Magic Girls animes. They have an order so you'll have to check the release year of the 3 videos.

Let me explain first what Spirit Blossom is. In Ionia, there is a celebration called the Spirit Blossom, this yearly comes to the land and the blossoms or the flowers usually have the spirits who have died so in order for you to talk with the dead, the dead/the flower will find you and you won't find it. What happened to Yasuo was that he found the blossom but the prequel cinematic will explain to you how Yone got there in time. TL;DR: Yone is not dead and Yasuo was tricked by his own demon. Yone is a demon slayer now XD literally!!! Background explanation: Yasuo and Yone are step siblings so everything is a competition since they're also boys so ego all around. Now Yasuo is more egoistic because he is younger, he is the younger brother. Yone is the elder brother hence why he is so wise. Now when they were young, Yone was enrolled in the sword fighting school that also harnesses your ability to channel the wind using the blade and Yasuo wanted in as well but he was never enrolled nor qualified so he made his own revolution to get it; he would stay in front of the gate of the school, rain or shine so Elder Souma not only took Yone in as a student but also Yasuo. growing up, Yone was tasked to fight in the war and the war was Ionia vs. Noxus; Noxus wanted to invade and conquer Ionia as their own. Yasuo was tasked to guard Elder Souma, his master because he was not only a teacher, but also an important person. Yasuo was jealous of Yone's role so Yasuo left elder Souma's side and fought in the war and then an accident happen. Riven(Gladiator girl), sneaked in the school to ask for Elder Souma's help with her blade's curse. Her blade is broken but it gets reforged when she is angry or needs to use it for bad, she wanted it removed, the spell on the blade but unfortunately while casting a spell to remove the curse, the curse retaliated and broke the blade into pieces, one such piece found Elder Souma's heart and he died. Since Riven is from Noxus and Noxus was invading Ionia, it was easy for her to slip out and so yasuo was to be blamed since he left his post. "You're supposed to be here with Elder Souma." - Yone telling Yasuo his task. "Then I should be out there protecting her!" - Yasuo addressing Ionia(their land) as 'her'. Yasuo's guilt turned into the very demon that almost killed him if not for Yone who swooped in for the rescue. Yone hasn't fully forgiven Yasuo but at the time, that's now what Yasuo needed so as the elder brother, Yone still guided Yasuo away from his misguided path. No you don't know Ahri yet, that's your first encounter with her. She doesn't appear much in the lore but she does appear again in another cinematic called "The Ruined King". I'm not really sure why, but I think it could have been written better by adding a little more info to the story. maybe only those who play LOL really understand enough. for example: -suddenly the oni elder said he was the great yasuo, why? it might be a tease for the yasuo story, but how do we know yasuo called great. Even though for the elder oni of course he knows because he was originally an oni and already targeted yasuo. - we also don't know what is the problem between yasuo and yone? What we can learn from this animation was, when Yasuo younger, he was a little arrogant because he probably had greater sword skills than Yone, then when he was older and Yasuo wanted to fight for her country, it was confusing, maybe because he said he wanted to go to war. (interestingly, this animation never really show what yasuo and ionian fighting of) then suddenly during yasuo's fight before killing yone, I don't understand why he was accused of " running away". - when yone, who had been possessed by the spirit of the oni hunter, came to kill the oni elder, somehow Yasuo acted, and protected the oni elder even though his shape already transformed into oni, that was also very confusing. why did yasuo defend the old oni? didn't he see the oni elder's body changed? Or was he influenced by the oni elder's spiked drink? if it was the case, at least show yasuo in having trouble regaining his consciousness / controlling himself. lastly, the earlier animation story related to this, I don't think the young man who fights the red oni his in the afterlife is yone, maybe yone's ancestor, but not him. in the animtion, the young samurai died in clan war, you can read the title of the animation, its about Ionian Myth. so its must've been about one of ionian myth that told story about how the oni hunter were born. its from them, the samurai who had died and used the power of Oni to hunt down Oni in Ionia. and yes, i agree with, yasuo's hair is very, very distracting. Even though it's a physical characteristic, I hope that one day Riot will redesign its visual design.

The old man was controlling yasuo's mind, thats why we was protect the demon, after the potion effect end he notice demon was controlling him and killed old guy with he's brother yone

The shoulder/arm piece is somewhat practical. Most swordsmen are right handed, meaning their heaviest strike would be from the right which that arm/shoulder piece might protect against. It may also just be a design choice but I do know irl knights and swordsmen also wear those guards.

i understand that you watch video game cinematics being interested in the lore and stories more than the game itself so id recommend watching arcane coming to Netflix in November. its more league content but it'll be much more story based around 2 characters called jinx and vi and their history. all these random cinematics are for the purpose of advertising the game/ content for the game I dont think theyre quite your taste.

That old man was a demon that feeds on emotions, and the tall guy with the MASSIVE ponytail, Yasuo, just wanted to basically pray at a temple and commune with spirits, but he was pretty late to the festival for it and the old man told him he had a temple in the woods. Alot of people were confused tbh and we play the game 😂

I recommend watching the trailer for Civilization VI and its expansion packs - Rise & Fall and Gathering Storm.

Ionia is a very spiritual place. There is a war agains Noxus, Demacia and some internal fights. Yasuo was the only diciple who learn the wind sword of his master, and he was suposed to protect the master and the school against Noxian warriors. but he left his guard and went to fight on the battlefield and the master was killed by a wind sword technique, so he was blamed of treason. The old men send Yone to kill him so they both figh when Yasuo was running away. And Yasuo kill his brother :c There are demons called azakana in Ionia. Those creatures are parasyte-like demons and feed on pain, fear and suffering of the ppl. Before his dead, Yone was parasyted by one of those azakana, because he felt guilty by his little brother treason and the inminent destruccion of his clan. That is why he accepted the mission and persecuted Yasuo in order to kill him. Yone went to a spiritual/astral place after his dead where he had two path, one to the ethernal rest and one to the self blame and suffering (like a personal hell). He took the second one and confront his fears and guilt, and also his azakana. But in the last moment the azakana "bit" his soul, becoming one, so Yone's soul cannot really die and was supposed to be in this spiritual place forever. (The remining azakana energy becomes his mask and his red sword, but it's not concius anymore) But there is the blomming season, when the spiritual and the phisical world went closer, almost becoming one And Yone's soul came back to the mortal world. He is not really alive and he cannot die, so is like a ghost. But as you could see he is not looking for revenge against his brother who killed him, but is hunting other azakana so nobody will get confused by those demons and there will be no need for brothers to fight like they did. He is also trying to protect his brother and the whole Ionia, cause he don't want to fail again.
