We’ve decided to watch the anime first until we get though all the parts the live action covers. Then we’ll continue to watch the live action.

The Live Action is materialized from the manga, not the anime, so a lot of the things you see here in the show is going to be adapted based on Oda's manga. Plus they added some new things to make it interesting 👀. After watching all 8 episodes, I can safely say you guys are going to LOVE this show!! They really did break the 'Live Action' "curse".

you realise that the anime is the manga in animated form right? its the same. the live action is a different telling of the story alltogether.

This show covers ~100 chapters of the manga and ~50 episodes of the show. There are definitely spoilers for the anime, twists and backstories that get revealed. Most of it falls with-in those first 50 episodes. But the one big thing is that Garp is an actual character that's not introduced until way later. You see him for the first time in episode 68, and the Live Action ends up revealing something about him that you typically wouldn't learn until episode 313. That being said, I think you're fine to watch the Live Action first then go through and watch the anime. They had to change a lot to get it to fit in 8 episodes and while they did a great job it means there is plenty of material that they didn't adapt and you can get to enjoy via the anime.

It's actually pretty cool that you said dad's very diverse. Because that's what pirates were, they were some of the earliest democracys and didn't care what you looked like or where you came from. You had a crew of British and Irish drinking with Haitian and Cunan people because they didn't care

Coming from a long time fans perspective you could honestly watch the Netflix show and then just pick uo where the show ends in the anime. Dont get ke wrong there are differences but nothing super critical. I will say though certain moments in the anime are epic

imo, you should prob watch the anime adaptation first, so you have something to compare it to. You only need to watch about 40-45 episodes in the anime to get everything that's included in the Live Action, excluding changes and spoilers they brought in to get people hooked on One Piece in the Live Action show.

This is what one piece fans be hungerin for right now. We watch the live action and our biggest question is what people who have never seen one piece think about it. Cause we got all those feelings from watching the anime an reading the manga, but I can't wait to hear what ya'll think as fresh mind viewers.

if any of y'all read manga i would reccomend reading the official colored manga instead, and you'll easily finish it within 1 month if you read like 30 minutes a day

Btw, there's a bigass spoiler in the live action show that gets revealed in like episode 4 of the live action, but only gets revealed in episode 250 or 300 in the anime. Just a heads up.

Both! The first season covers about the first 50 episodes of the anime (though there are some things brought from later in the anime). Up to you what order you want to watch in. I think it works both ways.

Live action is a good way to experience the first saga. A lot of people be like “now you gotta watch the anime.” Nah I think it’s fine to just do the live action. This is coming from a huge manga purist too.

this show is done better than the anime because the author and director fixed some mistakes in my opinion and made it more like the manga! the first chapter of the manga is a sort of flashback and afterwards you have luffy setting off on his adventure and punching a sea king.. much better than the anime imo
