I do love how for every cinematic up to Revelation it follows the Alpha team as main characters... up until Revelation comes in to twist your expectations around. Instead of following Alpha Earth Agents, we mostly follow Omega Earth Agents minus the two ( I forget their names right now, but the two who were hiking through the jungle and who opened the temple)at the beginning. With every cinematic, Omega Earth is shown as the aggressor, even when Alpha invaded Omega Earth it was for intel, and only attacked when shot at. So showing those two agents with guns out I believe is supposed to get you to assume they are the "bad guys", while the humanizing scenes with the others are so you get to know the agents better (also I think to introduce Fade and confirm that KillJoy/KJ and Raze are a couple in-canon). Humanizing the agents, then turning it on it's head to reveal that the agents you related to were the "bad guys" was a really cool idea because Omega Earth isn't "bad", their planet is dying and they're desperate to survive. The Omega Agents are seen as superheroes even though in essence they are committing terroristic attacks on Alpha Earth (the ending of the first cinematic with the giant chunk of city floating in the air is what happens when that device they keep deactivating in subsequent cinematics actually goes off). Omega Agents are "protecting" the earth from the evil Alpha Agents (propaganda made into comic books), and the citizens have no reason to doubt their saviours.

So essentially there are two different universes with strikingly similar Earths in each one, there's Alpha and Omega Earth. If I'm remembering correctly "Alpha Earth" is the one with the main cast of agents, and "Omega Earth" is where their variants are coming from. In Omega Earth their radianite (power source that both worlds have ended up using) became so unstable it pretty much destroyed the climate. It caused huge flooding to the point they created the geo-domes that you saw in the shattered cinematic as a means to survive. Because their radianite became so unstable, not much of it is actually usable, so in order to sustain the geo-domes they invade Alpha Earth to steal their radianite. Alpha Earth obviously doesn't know their plans or entire situation, so they assume a weapon is being made because of how much radianite they're stealing. That's why you see them coming through the portal in the Shattered cinematic, they're trying to retrieve it in fear they may be making a weapon. They end up finding out though that it's in fact fueling a life support system (the geo-domes). That's also why you see Neon (girl with lighting powers) say "are we still the good guys?" at the end. Oh yea and the reason you see them entering a comic book store is because the Omega Earth variants of the agents are considered heroes in their world, hence why you also see statues of them. The Alpha Earth variants are more covert, and don't really make their presence known. That's kinda the tldr of the lore, there's a lot more though. I think I saw someone say the other day that there's a 2 hour long video explaining all the lore? If you have the time, and wanna know more it is pretty interesting.

Ik this was like 5 months ago but here are the descriptions of each agent (The characters in the cinematics) -DUELIST CINEMATIC Agents: Jett, Phoenix. 1. Jett Abilities -Cloudburst (2 Charges; 200 creds; Ability Key activation: C) -Updraft (1 Charges, as of september 2023; 150 creds; Ability key activation: Q) -Tailwind (Signature; charges after getting 2 kills; Ability key activation: E) -Blade Storm (Ultimate; 8 ultimate points; Ability key activation: X) 1.5: Jett's cloudburst are smokes. So in game, you can say "Jett smoke" when you want her to block off a place. You can curve the smoke by holding the ability key. As of September 2023, he smokes got nerfed so now it only lasts 2.5 seconds (Correct me if I'm wrong). Jett's updraft can propel her into the air. As of September, her charges are now reduced to 1. Jett's Tailwind can propel her to any direction (depending on ur keys). If you hit A and then press E, you will move to the left. Jett's Blade Storm has 5 knives that reset if you kill an enemy using left click. However, If you use right click, the knives will not reset. I believe it's also highly accurate (?) if u aim correctly. 2. Phoenix Abilities -Blaze (1 Charge; 200 creds; C) -Curveball (2 Charges(?); 200; Q) -Hothands (Signature; recharges after 2 kills; Free; E) -Run It Back (Ultimate; 6 Ultimate Orbs; X) 2.5: Phoenix's Blaze is a wall of fire that you can curve as it casts. It obscures vision, damages enemies that walk through/stand on it, and heals you if you’re standing in it. It can be used to block choke points or protect you as you or your allies plant the spike. Phoenix's Curveball is A flashbang that you can quickly curve around corners. Be careful to not flash urself or ur teammates tho. Phoenix's Hothands is a molotov grenade that also heals you if you stand in its flames and deals AoE damage to enemies within it. Phoenix's Run It Back is wherea after you cast it at a location, you have a short amount of time where if you die, you will come back to life and return to where you casted it. Just be sure to cast it from a hidden location as it does take some time for you to resurrect and you’ll be vulnerable to attacks. Yoru(Blue teleporting guy)gameplay wise isn't great but can be very good in the right hands but lore wise he's pretty OP.

5:01 actually, he's considered one of the worst characters in the game, because his kit relies HEAVILY on outsmarting his opponents, which becomes harder and harder the more gamesense the opponent has, to truly get consistent value you need to be very experienced with him

TLDR about shattered, on omega earth their reality is unstable from the mass use of radianite leading to very accelerated climate change among other disasters most if not all of the population live in under water dome cities that use radianite to run, they have been coming to Alpha earth too harvest it (This is what we see in duelist,Duality and retake.) Shattered is a team from Alpha coming to Omega to recover it thinking it was being used for weapons development when in fact it wasn't, the guys shooting at them at the start that disable the portal are a PMC called Atlas. On Omega earth the organization the agents are on is called the VALORANT Legion but on Alpha earth its called the VALORANT Protocol. the legion is more public while the protocol is more covert like US SEAL teams or the British SAS

Valo has so much lore and everything. You really should look more into it, it's interesting ^-^ Also the character designs are top tier, I am more of a person who also plays a game based on design and artstyle and valo is so far one of the best fps based on character designs and playstyle imo

Phoenix has the ability to respawn after getting killed as long as his ult is active. The reason why Viper and Jett "survived" Episode 2 is because of Sage who can revive the dead. Valorant cinematics doesn't use "game mechanics" to justify the cinematics.
