Butterfly effect - Lorenz attractor (Touchdesigner tutorial)

A simple way to implement the Lorenz system in touchdesigner, using TOPs and a bit of GLSL.
Hope you enjoyed this tutorial. I'm trying to experiment with the speed of my videos, this one is a bit slower than usual. Let me know what you think!

Hey man, four things: 1) Amazing video as usual! 2) Please make more GLSL based stuff 3) I like the slower pace 4) I'm wondering what's your background? What did you study? :) Because I come from design, math is still not really my friend..

Thanks, man! As for glsl stuff, I'm definitely going to, still figuring out ways to put some ideas across I'd say my background is kinda.. how to put it.. mixed up. I studied management and cognitive psychology, but worked as a designer and software developer :D

@@noonesimg man for cognity psicology i have a 3d sound patch. All based on 3d point to point distance calculation. A bit old but it has all you need... also for a live show or ableton link. really good explanation of these simple differential equations, and it's clear that you can easily step forward in time and calculate new values from the feedback TOPs. thanks for showing how easy the whole process can be.

As always: nice video! I do have a problem, though. I'm running version 2017.107 and it seems the Add and Convert SOPs have changed. If I bypass the Convert I get a moving point/particle in the Geo preview, if the Convert is active, nothing appears to be happening. And still, if the Convert is bypassed I only see a point/particle in the preview, nothing gets actually rendered. Does anybody have a clue what's off here?

excellent tutorial, but i have a problem when I change the noise 1 initial resolution from 1pixel to10 pixel ..nothing happens ..how can i make the trails more visible?

I'm curious about non realtim rendering. I mean, is it straigt forward to export a movie with this at very hires + hi fps on a small machine but by using frame per frame rendering ?

Exporting a video or a sequence of frames with Touchdesigner is pretty easy. Although you need the paid license to access the hires stuff.

Pardon. I have some questions. When I at "set Ramp and null3 to noise and geo1 for color op (rgb)" this setp, geo1 got error. "All ops must generate the same number of instances (Have the same length)." Did I miss something setp? Thank you!

you might need to pulse reset the first feedback, geo is probably still grabbing the old noise resolution

I am doing this tutorial again on my machine, love this video. but when i try set my camera geometry once i place it the camera is frozen and i have to delete it and redo the camera placement. should i just restart TD?

yeuh it seems that i have to restart TD adjust the camera and then restart again when i want to move it again haha
