You are awesome for homeschooling your kids. Love it. God bless you and your wonderful family. Hopefully all schools will be a thing of the past. They all have an agenda which doesn't reflect your family values.

Started my 23rd year of homeschooling last week. I am not as enthusiastic as you are...but I used to be haha. I love your entire plan for school. For next year you might look at Teaching Textbooks for math. It would cut down even more on the amount of work you yourself are doing. Your plans for Chloe are spot on. I seldom did more than 30 minutes of school for my kindergarteners. The best thing to teach your children is "how to learn" from there they are unstoppable in their quest for knowledge.

Wow! 23 years! That's awesome. And if you think my plan is good that is saying something so thank you. I'll check out that Teaching texbooks thing. As Aaron gets older I am going to get lot in his math. haha! I do notice that my kids are more curious than ever which is so cool to watch unfold. Thanks for watching and for your words of encouragement! :)

Good deal! I'm gonna get my boys to write book reports soon. They'll read a book of their choosing and then do a book report. And I'll also teach them whatever will be in the area we will be staying in. And yes, making your own books is always fun for kiddos!

Oh. And I'm totally taking advantage of my unemployed "master degreed" brother who.loves teaching for the past few months...it also helps my 3 youngest are all 7! I think..yep, triplets....well,.teaching all 3 to read was not so much fun at all...yea...I'm not sure if all the same curriculum is a good or bad things yet...
@NoOrdinaryPath

Yes, book reports are great - even if just a like a paragraph or two. It helps them retain what they are reading for sure. My boys love to make books. They like to draw comic books, write stories, or just draw pictures and doodle so we decided to make it a learning experience. We'll keep it up for as long as they are still having fun with it. :)

Teach all the kids to read a map. Get all of the a decent atlas. Then you can use travel days as school days for teaching geography. AAA tour books will give them ideas of places to try to talk you into stopping to visit. Include a twelve inch ruler so they can measure how far it is from point a to point b. measure the distance multiply by the number of inches by the number of miles per inch. You have included a bit of math in your travel day.

You should check out your home library online and see if they have an ebook checkout program. Ours has a huge selection of ebooks you can checkout just like a regular book using an app called Bookmyne or Kindle. They include a really good selection of kids books from pre-school to tween and teens. Work on any kind of tablet or ereader.

Yes!! We are doing the same thing with EP. I only have a 1st grader but we are doing math and reading. We are supplementing with various other things as well. Since we travel we are doing a neat binder 50 states and capital that I found on teachers pay teachers. And the rest is just good old unschooling! Fun to see others doing the same thing. We started 3 weeks ago. We took May June and half of July off.

I loved EVERYTHING about this video! We thought we'd be full time by now but God has different timing 😂 So I'm figuring out homeschooling at home, and not on the road like I expected. I've been strongly leaning towards unschooling, and you gave me more confidence in it for sure. Thanks for the tips and ideas - definitely implementing some right away for my 5th & 2nd grader. Now to figure out how to keep the rowdy 4 yr old & curious 1 yr old busy! 😂😂😂
@NoOrdinaryPath
@NoOrdinaryPath 4 жыл бұрын
How wonderful that you get to try it out at home first though. I'm sure you were hoping to be on the road but seriously, it will help to have that experience before switching to the RV all at once. At least it might have been for our family anyway. :) Good luck with your school year and don't worry about your 1 and 4 year olds. There are all kinds of ideas on pinterest Also, if you are open to tablets, the Kindle Fire has been great for us. Each kid has one and it has settings timers and restrictions. When I need my 4 year old to be busy without momma, I let her have "school time" on her Kindle so I can sneak away to help the boys.

@@NoOrdinaryPath I totally forgot about the timers and restrictions on the kindle fires! totally setting them up today! thank you! we are excited to get started. slowly easing into a routine this next two weeks so it's not a sudden shock to us all. another good thing about being local is there's two homeschool groups we are joining - experienced mommas to help show me the ropes as I learn!

This isn’t awesome! We are down in the Castle Rick area and have a little one starting kindergarten in our “Big Bertha” ! (keystone outback bh) I have had fun setting up for school. The fresh start is an amazing feeling. Memory verses are great! The program Bible Study Fellowship has been a great activity to help with that as well. Also, if you haven’t checked it out yet, the Seattle aquarium is awesome! Although tiny, it is great for educational field trips.

Hey new here! Been homeschooling for 15 years and was thinking of trying out roadschooling part time. By part time I mean somethong like 2 weeks roadschool the a month back home then back out for another 2 weeks etc. (This in part is due to obligations requiring my teen be home for certain times during the month.) Hope to gleam some good info from your channel.

You got this. Those are super fun ages and you really can't mess up. Have fun with it and remember everything is a learning opportunity so even if you don't do "school" they will still soak in skills. I would just get fun activities to do with them and forget about a formal curriculum yet. :)

@NoOrdinaryPath
@NoOrdinaryPath 3 жыл бұрын
We watch homeschool pop on YT - they have a state video for each state. Then we use that to look into other cool things unique to that area. So maybe we will learn more about the state bird. Or tour a copper mine (here in AZ because its the "copper state") My kids have learned state flags, colors, mottos, birds and what makes that state special or unique.
