In this review of the NordicTrack EXP 14i Treadmill, we take you through what to expect and how this model performed for us.
The EXP 14i has been updated to be sleeker and more compact than the previous version. It is all black, and takes up less space so it can work better in more homes. The frame is similar to NordicTrack’s high-end Commercial Series. The treadmill remained really stable and steady for us while walking and running.
The deck folds up and locks into place. There are 2 transportation wheels so you can move the EXP 14i when needed. You just need to tip back the treadmill when it’s folded in order to move it.
The 3.0 CHP motor is quiet and best for light to moderate running. Long distance training is better for larger motors that the NordicTrack 2450 and 1750 have. For moderate distance though, the EXP 14i works just fine. The speed goes up to 12 mph and the deck inclines up to 12%. The incline is a little louder than comparable models but it is only heard when the deck is adjusting.
The deck is what makes this treadmill more compact. It is 20” wide and 55” long. Most people will be able to walk and jog. If you have a shorter stride like me, you’ll be able to run on the deck, too. Those with long running strides might want to look into a larger 60” long deck. The cushioning in the deck is soft and forgiving on the joints.
The 14” touch screen is enabled with iFit to offer thousands of workout classes. The classes are led by instructors and they’re filmed indoors and outdoors all around the world. The layout of the console is really easy to use, too.
Overall, the NordicTrack EXP 14i Treadmill is a compact treadmill for walking, jogging, and some running. It performed well for us, and it’s a good option if you need a smaller, yet high-tech treadmill for your home.
