J.C. Tremblay should be in the hockey hall of fame there is no good argument against his shunning

He was an NHL All-Star, and most likely the greatest defenseman the WHA ever had. Would have been on Team Canada '72 if it weren't for Alan Eagleson and Clarence Campbell. Yeah he should have been inducted into the hall a long time ago, while he was still alive to enjoy it.

Without question, had all the credentials and certainly one of the most gifted Canadiens players ever, his WHA stint hampered his inductio n. Imagine him still on the late 70s dynasty

It was like the Nordiques merged with the Cincinnati Stingers... Ftorek, Hislop, Legge, Leduc, and Dion in the lineup, and former Stingers coach Jacques Demers who had taken over the Nordiques in their final WHA season. It was also good to see Serge Bernier back in the NHL. Who knew at the time that Michel Goulet would go on to bigger and better things, while Real Cloutier faded away over a couple seasons.

You're right about the Stingers. It was the dismantal draft for the Stingers and Bulls, a couple of days before the amateur draft.

It was the beginning of the Battle of La Belle Province for the next 16 years! Now les Canadiens, without les Nordiques, owns the entire province of Quebec all to itself; maybe it just was not big enough for two teams in a province (lol)!

@@martinfelsenfeld6012 It was big enough then and it's certainly big enough now. Obviously chances are the Nords will never come back but if they ever do one day, they will be a succesful business, no question about that. And the NHL would actually benefit from a new Nords-Habs rivalry because it's the only hockey rivalry you can liken to those incredible local European soccer club rivalries in Italy, Spain or Northern England. Of course Bettman doesn't care as he sees the NHL as a U.S. major league catering for the U.S. market. The Canadian teams are just being tolerated because of 'History'. And in Montreal, Geoff Molson is obviously playing a double game 'protecting' his market. So there you go, no team in Quebec city. Meanwhile Arizona are allowed to lose money every year and play in a tiny varsity arena. Because you know, Phoenix is such a huge market,... A huge market with very few hockey fans, but who cares.

Nobody left their seat until Nordeques scored. No glass around the benches or penalty boxes. Typical "Let-'em-loose" Bruce Hood game - chippy. These matches were known as The 'Habs and The 'Hab-not's. Surprised that Drapeau didn't get himself into the Tremblay ceremony. Almost as big a win as what happened in Lake Placid 4 months later.
