So I finally had the opporturnity to ride this holy track in real life.
I know this track by heart from the countless hours I put into it in Assetto Corsa, Gran Turismo, rFactor and iRacing and I felt at home right away.
There are only two major differences between the virtual version and real life: you have so much more space in real life and the drops at Pflanzgarten and Sprunghügel are so steep! It really goes down there. Damn.
But I was constantly worried about two things:
- some maniac rear ending me
- suddenly slipping off because of oil on the track.
The first thing wasn't so bad, I just kept looking in my mirrors. But the second one was the thing I was really afraid of. Luckily the track was clean, but it definitely reduced the fun I had around the track and kept me from giving more than 90%.
Opening the track for the pulic is awesome, but you just never know who drove before you and with which vehicle. There are so many videos on KZfaq about people losing control without fault just because some idiot lost oil.
I highly recommend going to the Nordschleife to experience it on your own, but either do it with a bike/car you brought on a trailer (so you have a ride home when you crash) or simply rent a car there (no, not from Sixt, you can rent a BMW E36 right at the track).

Schön gefahren! Besitze auch eine CB500 (PC32) und kann es kaum abwarten das Schätzchen irgendwann mal mit auf die Strecke zu nehmen. Ich seh mich jetzt aber schon in der selben Situation wie dich hier: Langsamer durch kurven fahren als nötig, Blinker anlassen, sowas halt xD

Naja, wirklich pushen sollte man halt echt nicht, wenn man direkt mit dem Motorrad dort ist und nicht um die Ecke wohnt. Weil man kann leider echt nicht wissen, ob irgendein Idiot vor einem wo Öl liegen gelassen hat. Das trübt den Spaß leider enorm.

Sehr sehr geil! Ich selbst fahre, cb500, xs400 und ne 600er bandit. Die älteren Maschinen sind die geilen 😎😉 Vielleicht trifft man sich ja mal dort

Stimmt leider, man kann bei den Touristenfahrten aber leider nicht wissen, ob da nicht jemand Öl verloren hat. Das nächste mal mitm Auto.

Ja, eine Runde kostet glaub ich 20 Euro. Die einzige Voraussetzung ist, dass dein Fahrzeug Straßenzulassung hat.

Bin eh da und dort 160 gefahren. Die meisten wirklichen Geraden der Nordschleife gehen relativ bergauf, auch wenn man es nicht sieht.

What are you on about? The track was dry. I went slower beccause I was worried about crashing because a lot of people do in that corner. It says so in the text - there's no "stupid excuse".
