I like SCSU because they used more range of the Trombone in addition to dynamics. I also sounds more "down home", sort of what you might here if you went to New Orleans.

@KC816KC Because that last piece NSUplayed sounding like a freight train is one that SCSU trombones plays all the time, one of their staple pieces. NSU tried to upstage them by playing it, but as you can see in the video SCSU trombones laid them to rest with it at the end.

I have to admitt SCSU took the win for this one.

@richmond09tbone But SCSU did destroy them, this sectional battle wasn't close at all. Being there live (don't know if you were), but the crowd gave NSU their props becaue they were good. But when SCSU tbones played "Call Tyrone" it was over right then for NSU. Blowing their chant back at the end to counter what NSU "tried" to do was the added bonus. Very well done SCSU.

I thought overall it was a nice battle. SCSU did show why it's their fanfare. I like the way they play it with a modulation, but I still like hearing SOP play it the most LOL. But hey that's just me LOL.

Just stating an opinion here but i saw a comment sayin somethin about scsu had more trombones or something maybe im wrong but i feel like just because ur up against a bigger section doesnt mean anything. I've seen sections one with 15 goin up against a section of 20 and the bigger section got blown out in all aspects of the word. If yall got it yall got it if u dont u dont. Just do better next time. Either way big ups to amtrak and the horny horns.

my personal opinion is that (the train chord) is really played out and unoriginal these days. where is the originality? every tbone section that ive seen or heard does it! there is only a few sections that doesnt. but i would like to see a little more originality period.
