It's not bad to take apart . Just did mine that was a trash pick. Getting spark and fuel but the plug seems like it has fowled. The diaphragm in the carb looked uneven. Will see after messing with some more.

Just repaired one with the same issue. It was a loose carb boot.The carb intake boots get loose and they suck air and lean out. Always a good idea to tighten those two screws under the boot when you have it apart. If the carb wiggles at all the boot needs tightened.

First off, great video! Very detailed and well-documented. Second, I have a 125b and 125bvx. Both failed at almost exactly five years. 90~100psi on both. Carb cannot be rebuilt on new models (green fuel cap is old model, American parts, better quality) due to EPA mess. Most of it is sealed up good. Same reason those adjustment screws aren't phillips or flat, unlike on my motorcycles, tractors, etc. I was told to basically buy new carbs. Both blowers are not in the shop, likely bound for the trash. This DID force me to do the smart thing and pay more for a solid machine. I bought a Stihl BR800 X Magnum. My father-in-law is in construction and has Stihl products that he had before I met his daughter, fourteen years ago. All run flawlessly. I got a four-year warranty on mine at no charge. Oh, and it blows so much better than the old ones too! I might fix them and donate them, but I dunno', I don't want somebody mad at me!

@@HomeGaragechannel No, I run only 93/E0 and when I took apart the carbs as best I could, they were spotless inside. No torn gaskets, no stiff rubber, nothing. Clean as a whistle.

Mine stopped running after a year. Tore it apart. Found metal bits in the cylinder. Changed the piston and ring. New plug, filter, fuel, still wouldn’t start. Threw it in the trash. Felt good to be finally rid of it. After a few hours I retrieved it and gave it one last chance. It started and I finished the yard work with it. It’s still not completely running right but it’s getting there.

I have a question about a Craftsman leaf blower that is at least 35 years old. No parts are now available but it is missing one of the carb adjustment screws. Will the machine run missing one of the screws? What can I do since there are no parts available? I love you videos. You explain everything so good.

I'd have to know the model number but someone only came with one. as far as your question, I'm not sure because I've never tried running a carb with a fuel adjustment screw missing. My guess is that it's not going to run well, or possibly not even start.

I would not get one, our church has one and I do not like it at all. It feels very cheap. I would definitely go echo or stihl over this one. Have you had or worked on a little 2 stroke water pump (like an echo wp1000?) I just got one, and wonder what you would do for storage for the pump besides draining the water out of the pump. Great video as always!

Why or how I don't know but I could not get that damn thing started so I just started turning the screw down a quarter turn at a time. @@HomeGaragechannel thanks yeah your video helped me. I didn't know which screw was what and I had already put it back together after cleaning the carb. I guess it was returned or just messed up at the factory but I've never encountered this before on a new saw. When I took the carb off fuel poured out of the head and the exhaust from me flooding it trying to start it and it being so out of adjustment I suppose. I could tell it was flooded but like I said I literally just bought the thing so I never expected to have problems right out of the box. Either way I started it again today and let it run and starts right up, idles fine, and runs great. Thanks again.

if you confirmed spark, have you considered checking the compression of the engine?
@DwayneDelacruz

@HomeGaragechannel well I don't have a Guage to check it, but I have a new piston in there and it sounds really compressed when I pull the rope to try to start it...

I think you mean to say "why Is the smoke coming out of the muffler? If so it's not blue, it's more like light black, almost grey.

These are cheap big box store homeowner blowers. Have seen 4 with scored piston, rings, and cylinder in last 2 years. You have already done a video on His what na 125B blower, and I said the same thing.

No, the simple solution is to adjust it properly. Not tear it down, but a new carb, (needlessly) and replace it.
