This is comedy in its purest form. Highlighting reality with jokes and let the world pick up whatever's left and do whatever tf they want with it. Jerry looks concerned in a couple shots there, and I don't think it's because of the jokes but because this was a secret in Hollywood at the time and Norm wanted to air it all out. Nobody wanted to play ball with him so nothing but jokes was left of it all back then. Cosby's sentencing and handling of the case is still a fucking joke, just no one laughing at the punchline anymore

My favorite part of that bit was the aftermath. A few comedians in the crowd like Gottfried knew instantly what was going on and were immediately laughing so hard you could see they had trouble breathing. Then afterwards, there were other "comedians" in that crowd like Jim Norton who were saying Norm absolutely bombed. Norm always wanted to make himself laugh more than any other thing, and the rest of us were just along for the ride.

Let me first say that comedy is phenomenal in that, if done correctly and with the right spirit, any topic is rife with comedic value. As a woman who has been raped, this might be the first joke, that I've heard referencing it, that has made me laugh out loud. Gosh Norm is in a class all his own! :)

Norm was on the side of how bad rape is. It just goes to show you that you can't judge offensiveness by what topic is brought up, you can only judge offensiveness by what attitude is taken to the topic. (Some jokes are both funny and offensive, but in this case Norm wasn't being offensive.)

Opening “do you think Cosby’s legacy will be hurt?” with that weird, sideways sincerity that is quintessentially norm. That alone kills me. It’s such an absurd question but he asks as though he means it. And it’s all a game to set up the slam dunk that follows. He’s a comedic genius.

When Seinfeld was on Late Show the host Stephen Colbert said he couldn’t enjoy Cosby’s work anymore because he’s a monster. Seinfeld tried to make the argument that you can separate the art from the artist, then they went to commercial and when they came back Seinfeld decided Colbert was right. So I suppose he and Colbert had a little chat during the break.
