Interesting that he sees Bill Hicks as a fraud, while others consider Bill as a comic ahead of his time. I saw Bill as an angry person with a bit of humour thrown in. The interviewer has done the best job yet of cornering this slippery fish. He actually got Norm to give up some actual personal thoughts. Great job Mr. interviewer. 👍👍👍

Hicks is overrated. I always found so much darkness and hate coming from him. I don’t mind rage as a technique, but when you split and divide your audience... that’s something I never understood. Same with Kinison. They could be hilarious and often were, but in the end, there was so much hate.

Always saw Hicks as more philosophical than an actual comic, pointing out the hypocrisies of his time. With, as you said, a joke here and there. Completely different approach than Norm, who genuinely makes me laugh out loud time and time again. Norm has expressed he doesn't care for comics who attempt to come off as intellectuals. But the early 90's, when Grunge ruled the radio and Hicks hit his peak, anger was the commodity of the day. It's why both Tool and Radiohead dedicated their albums at the time to Hicks.

I thought Hicks was great when I was a "half-smart college kid," as Norm would call me. As a 40 year old with 20 years of grown up life experience and continued learning... I was excited to watch an old video of Hicks. It was awful.

Hicks was a blackpilled heretical prophet, kinda like Alex Jones except Jones has been able to get way more laughs regardless of mortality. Norm, yet again, reaffirms so many reservations one could hold over the course of decades. What a rare human. He is and will be cherished forever.
