If you are a mother, to be most effective while raising a future human representative of life, to do this in the smoothest and most wise way, it takes really viewing life from a perspective outside of our own perceived limitations. Schizophrenia or sociopathic tendencies come with the territory of having this "super power." Do not dwell on it. Every time you notice these labels, go outside of yourself and view it all from a distant observer perspective. This will begin to free you.

If I ever have kids, I'll probably do that same thing. My parents also did a similar thing. In my opinion, it's EXTREMELY important to teach children the correct names for their body parts, so if something bad happens, they can report it. Good on you for teaching them that.

Absolutely….that’s exactly how I’ve been as an INTJ mom & my daughters would attest to that. They said the same to me many times: I really emphasized my points on big issues but didn’t sweat the small stuff. Then counted myself very fortunate. Actually, I explained so much to them on the “whys & wherefores” in virtually every scenario that only once or twice did I EVER have to just ask them to trust me on something w/o an explanation. And they DID! My daughters are amazing!💞

Then i guess intj dads are the opposite, they dont care if you fail a class or get bad grades or get pregnant in highschool or move out right after you turn 18 and not speak to them anymore (my life) but will literally complain and enforce and bully us into doing soo many unnecessary and unimportant stuff... the only thing that he was strict wigh that was important was hygiene and... saving money (at least when it came to us because he spends hundreds of dollars on his hobbies/obsessions).

I'm in the same situation with our baby being already 10 month old. I already don't take crap from her when she just whines but my husband is always so understanding, that doesn't save me from his laughs when our baby has a real problem and I go into protective mama bear mode

Hi, I’m an INTJ and I once got bullied by my ex bff (for a week and a half) and while we were trying to solve the problem because I had enough and just told her I didn’t want to be her friend anymore I was just looking at her with the calmest face I could do and she was literally crying on the floor saying she was so sorry and explaining to me why she did all of that but apparently I seemed scary because a teacher entered the room and almost screamed at ME for bullying her 😂😂😂 but then I explained and there was also another time a little later while still solving the problem that she told me that I looked so cold BRUH THAT’S NORMAL… WHAT YOU WANT ME TO LOOK FRIENDLY OR SOMETHING…? But yeah apparently my « calm » face was actually a death stare 😂😂😂 there was also another time she asked me to look away because I scared her too much 😂😂😂 now that I know I’m INTJ, well that’s just normal I guess! By the way you probably didn’t care but for people who are wondering, NO I’m not her friend anymore and I don’t even talk to her REALLY she tried re-becoming my friend many times after that like even MONTHS later she would come to me and ask « Could you please eat lunch with me? » like to start over I guess but I did my regular resting face; death stare and just said: « No. » There was also when she asked me if O was more likely to lunch with her before or after the winter break and I told her: « After the winter break. » which in my head meant never since there is technically infinite time after that (Or I mean not infinite if like the Universe ends someday then yeah there’ll be no time anymore) but yeah and so she asked again after and I explained to her: « There’s infinite time after the winter break. I meant someday and not like the immediate month we return from winter break. » 😂😂😂 she never spoke to me again! 😄😄😄

Yeah, you’d think, but uhhhh, if your kid doesn’t respond well to the “over explaining”, the need to establish an environment to promote neural pathways for their benefit, it’s just grounds for their annoyance/frustration/eye rolling/shutdown/disrespect. *speaking from experience. My mistake was assuming there would be *some* common traits I’d have with my daughter. I never expected a mini me, just to have some common ground that she’d respond to. It’s a massive sense of failure. I don’t recommend it unless your able to really go against your personality/nature and allow them to guide what parenting they respond to. It’s very uncomfortable.

I am a homeschooling INTJ mom (non religious) of four children. In retrospect, this is what I was going for too. They’re each very different from me (including two extroverts!), so I’ve had to learn to adjust and appreciate what they bring to the world, but all in all it’s been a fabulous ride. I appreciate most people more now. There are no inherently negative traits.

Yes! I've found being an INTJ mom very hard but very rewarding. The early years are super hard because of the overexplaining and expecting rational responses thing, but I've found it gets better. It also helps that my oldest is also an INTJ. My biggest warning is to never read parenting books because the advice never rings true. Trust yourself, be yourself, and don't let other people make you feel like you're a failure. It's okay to tell your kids that you're not like other moms - they may actually grow to appreciate your weirdness. And it IS fun to scare the normal moms a little. Muhaha.

I know INTJs are known to be very oriented around achieving their goals while ENFJs are very focused around motivating/supporting others to achieve goals. This is probably part of the reason it's a potential power couple combo. I've certainly seen evidence of this dynamic in our relationship. If we are both working toward the same goal it works well.

My daughter showed me this video. I did everything here except the code to the fridge. I feel so attacked when he said "wait for your Dad to get home so you'll have someone that sympathizes with you." I've said something similar like that to my ENFP daugther quite a bit...

@@eggsnspam I didn't exactly said code to the fridge thing either, but I did say things like, I don't really mind if you eat it as long as you prove to me you ate healthy enough otherwise, or things like well you will have to make up for it by doing something else healthy.😝 But I feel the vibe is right on.

I just always let my kid snack within reasonable boundaries. You can't have a pound of chocolate, but there was usually cheese or fruit, etc. I am also lucky because she really liked veges and would eat peas for a snack, that helped.

From a possibly INTP perspective most of the INTJ parenting approach would have been fine and sometimes more useful than my actual mothers, I never could accept "because I said so" as a valid answer. The only one that wouldn't have been that useful is the fridge code since it wouldn't take long to weigh the toys and work it out, but then I suppose I did also get in trouble once for disassembling the hinges to a locked area I wasn't allowed and having my sister inconveniently return home early. Locks always seemed more of a challenge of a puzzle that had to be solved rather than a restriction.

We INTJ's deal with kids, or anyone, with extreme fairness, reasons, and logic, which I feel is wonderful in raising mentally tough kids. It would totally not work trying to argue with us with emotions. We are extremely honest with no sugar coating, but sometimes just need a little bit more of a human touch.

This! It took years for me to realize people thought I was being a smart ass when I gave them my very logical answers to their hypothetical questions. The problem was two fold in that 1. I didn't understand the questions were rhetorical and 2. I didn't know people thought it rude to not bow to their opinions. I've gotten better at recognizing rhetorical questions, at least.

INFJ here, I have no problem with cleaning(even though it’s exhausting but I love a clean space) however I hate cooking and definitely got the “how are you gonna feed your husband? Bla bla bla” well, by marrying a man who cooks and actually enjoys it

The wording choice is quite interesting given they could have said it's simply not developed enough and may give incorrect information.

Nah, INTJs can make great moms. I know a lady at church who is not only a great INTJ mom to her own kids, but she’s basically the mom of the congregation. Everyone comes to her with their problems. And honestly as an INTJ lady myself, it was great to have such an amazing lady to look up to when I was growing up. You got potential, so don’t sell yourself short! 😊

The maternal instinct to nurture is stronger than you think. I’m an INTJ with three kids, and while I can get a bit too cerebral sometimes, I still make it a point to outwardly show love and affection. Applied correctly INTJs have natural super powers we can apply to parenting that most other types do not have.

the protein shake for breakfast was the realest for me. not that that's how my mom was, that's how i am as a mom. i feel guilty because they're literally just having a beverage for breakfast but IT HAS ALL THE VITAMINS AND NUTRIENTS and not cooking a whole smorgasbord (which i hate cooking anyway, ESPECIALLY first thing in the morning) means they get to sleep in later. am i gonna ask them to sacrifice 30-45 minutes of sleep so they can have eggs instead of the molecular components of eggs in a delicious chocolate shake form? tl;dr - the phrase "drink your breakfast" is heard on a near-daily basis in my car.

this is actually a brilliant idea. i grew up in a family without own transportation so we always used public transport whenever we want to go to the city. to cut the transportation cost, my mom would only restock our groceries once every 2 months (so we'd buy in bulks that can last for ages). for school supply, every end-year school holiday, my mom would buy pencil, erasers and pens in dozens or in big boxes that can last me and my siblings for a whole year. As an intj myself, i never noticed how this was actually convenient for me. i'll be applying this for my kids but with different reasons ofc😂

Im kinda the same with the face expressions. My whole fam is kinda scared or weirded out by my expressions but my face doesn't really express my thoughts or feelings very well though. So everyone gets confused by me cause I seem cold but that's not what I see inside myself so I literally have to explain my feelings or intentions so they don't get defensive or something. How about pancakes? It's my speciality, I can make the best pancakes. But honestly we INTJs mostly seem severe and distant, you can't guess what's going on in our heads. Not sure if it's really good for children but hey maybe I will find out in the future 🙂

My experience with an INTJ mom is good. We argue over literally everything, but in in a good way (keep in mind I'm an ENTP). She's passed on her love of classical music and rap, and we talk often. Our house is always spotless tho, and our rooms are expected to be kept the same.

Waffles are for weekends. You need nutrition to face school and work.

INTJ uncle here, made waffles, my highly predictable ISFP niece was overjoyed. Of course i adapted a nutritionally sound pancake recipe using bananas, coconut, egg and honey. She's eating healthy even if she doesn't think she is when she's in *my* house!

@@nataliemunoz8600 oh, hello! She definitely is! I have many adult students and she's one of the best. 1.She's diligent and smart, doesn't have much time but somehow always has her homework done. 2. If she or her daughter are busy and we skip classes or change the time she lets me know beforehand and not some 15 minutes past the begging of the class as it happens sometimes (hi, my ESTP student 💀). though she has a small tendency to forget about the class if we've changed the time or the date, but it's alright, I understand that. 3. In the education process she likes the structure so I have to be less chaotic than usual and well-prepared. it's a good thing, I develop my own skills through that. 4. She's highly intuitive and quick, I don't have to explain a lot and repeat myself for 10 times. 5. As with all the languages, we talk a lot, and it's always a pleasure to talk to her (if I manage to shut tf up and just listen, which is hard for me because I'm getting involved into it and forget it's not a regular conversation). She's a little bit shy and quiet when she speaks, but we found the topics she's interested in and it went much better! So, yes! She is a good student for sure 💗💗💗 Thank you for asking ^^
