absolutely incredible band. Also, the 4 minute silence at the end of providence is because that final movement is actually a 'hidden track', therefore the silence makes it hidden, as a lot of people will take out the cd before it reaches that point.

The 4 minutes of silence in the final track of the Cd release, Providence is the most important part of the album for me, because it's when this album bleeds into the real world and the outside noises of the traffic noises, constructions and stuffs becomes the album itself, gives the realisation that the world the album built is OUR world.

Personally my favorite version of this album is the cd version. Yes, sometimes it gets a bit slow but honestly some of my favorite moments in this album are only in that version (like the movement dead metheny). I think the silence is just to give the listener a breath or just make the grand finale unexpected, but yeah it's unnecessarily long.

I judge music by how well it goes with ketamine. F# wins in this regard

the last part on the cd release is meant to be a bonus section, but the long silence is still included in east hastings.

I like the cd version better, I'm in it for the atmosphere every time I listen to this record, the extra material is great and the extra silence doesn't bother me... F# requires a lot of patience to listen to regardless of which version and I'm all for how slow and ambient it is. The Dead Flag Blues is my favourite song ever and 'The Cowboy...' in particular will never cease to amaze me, the layering of instruments and the somber atmosphere are far more impressive to me than anything off Lift Your Skinny Fists

I do prefer the CD version more but I'm a bit biased since I didn't know a vinyl version existed, I just listened to it and I feel like it's a bit short and the production is slightly but that might be bc of my bias

Couldn't agree more. The vinyl release keeps it all concise and compact while still getting it's point across while the cd version can feel very slow at points. Great review
