I only play heroes 3 at normal difficulty for fun but this series just opens my eyes, amazing content, hooked me up for hours! Thanks for posting mate!

"It's always better to prioritize the external angels, because they will expire at the end of the week, whereas the ones in our town are pretty much just gonna be there forever." I honestly feel like quibbling just a tiny bit. If it's the week of the plague, you lose out on a TON of troops in your town, but external dwellings (as far as I remember) are unaffected.

Glad Loynis is getting some love. He was one of my favourite mains when I was a wee lad as I ofc ran with all 7 of my town's units like a goodboi and mass uberprayer was a godsend. If only he didnt have learning to start :(

I'm pretty sure all of you know this already, but the reason "best hero" shows sometimes someone unexpected, is because it only checks the units. The hero with the best units = best hero. Awesome series!

I'm always nervous when my town has a lot of units since in my games I get the week of the plague quite often... Fingers crossed

You should be able to reload an auto save and move a hero on the map slightly to get a different outcome. I was told the game reads the heroes positions on the map in some way to determine the months

Earth Elementals, my boys! I remember soloing an entire game by just stacking one tanky unit to survive (think it was Golems) and using only Summons for actual combat. Once Magic gets rolling it‘s obnoxious )

I like this series, also I have a question, where do you get additional mods for quick stack transferring by one unit to another hero and such? Seems very useful.

I'm enjoying your run! Very informative :) But I'm curious, why do you keep saying that Learning is not worth picking? I thought it was a good skill? Can you explain please :)

If you upgrade it to max the first 3 level ups, you need to reach like level 18 before it's BREAKING EVEN in exp spent vs. exp gained. So you're just much better off with any other useful skill.

I have the question of why you sometimes wait to hit with your archers. Obviously I understand that shots taken out of range are vastly weaker but surely a bad shot is better than no shot? Is there stratagem I'm missing?

Waiting doesn’t lose a turn, it just makes you take it later in the round(look at the round order in the bottom). So if you wait, you can let an enemy come into range when they move forward and possibly get a full power shot. Look up “wait tactics” if you want to understand a bit more.

How do you get the view of where an enemy can move, what the order of turns will be, and auto simulating a battle? Is that a mod? Can't find that stuff in the settings.

HD Mod he is using for the quick combat. Either alt or shift to check moves to... Another HD Mod thing

Or more efficient, keep a secondary hero to circle around the biome and take every watermill and garden each week to generate more gold / gems regularly. That hero can also circle around the external dwellings and get pikemen, an angel, swordmen, archers and monks for future upgrade. I think he said he wants to keep Caitlin there to do that, whick makes sense.

How do you see these details in the numbers of enemy troops? Also in the fight mode how long enemy troops can go.. is this a mod? seems he's playing vanilla SoD..

You'll sometimes be offered large stacks of creatures for free. There's also a spell that'll predict the outcome of nearby encounters, so you can pick the beneficial ones.

I once got 35 arch angels for free. I had literally just bought portal and had 1 angel in my team. Rest of that game was a steamroll 😅

Not all encounters require gold - sometimes the troops offer to join for free. I don't know the math behind it, but I think having a stronger army will make it more likely for them to join.

@@adamm2091 yeah, I used Basis Version from GoG, but installed above HOTA Version from one of the official WebSites. It worked fine afterwards in Windows 11.
