Coming from both sides of the track Marched Blue Devils and PVAMU BOX i have to say. You Can’t call yourself Band of the year if it was only 4 bands showing up in 2 divisions. If You’re going to do something like what DCI is doing then have the top 10 most voted bands battle in both divisions. Have Division 2 do it on a Saturday with Awards and Division 1 on Sunday with Awards. Also if this was scored Upload the score sheet on a website designed for HBCU Band of the Year so the band can see what they are lacking. So that way they can work on it for Next Years Competition if they do another one because from the stand its sad that there was little to no one in those stands supporting the bands.

Golden Delight Ate and Swallowed the Mercedes Bentz Stadium. Jsettes alright overall, but Golden Delight is a total Package Auxiliary Squad with their own unique style that is different from all other HBCU Bands.

I've been in several band competitions. Flags and colors usually wins the judges over. I was on NCAT side. Their sound was really good. That being said, they would have lost on transitions. JSU lines were cleaner, and their transitions were better. If my director wanted to pick up a quick trophy against bands that dance more. We would do more corp style, with a flag routine and a 30s dance. By the way stand selection was a part of it.

@NateDawg748 I have never seen a band win a competition without marching. SU Jags utilize the entire field with their drills while marching 8 to 5. These stand still in 1 place drills by A&T was so high school. Bands are supposed to MARCH like SU MARCH! Lol!

@dripsipp Mane, I can tell you already know how the Jukebox get down. The flair the pageantry coupled with the headsnap on the 8th step of 8 to 5 marching. Who else can put the halftime score in the field in their drills and marching. Mane they need to b stop playing with the Jukebox.

Love JSU’s band. I liked their show tonight better than NCAT but their drum line isn’t good. Best two HBCU drum lines are Cold Steel and MDFS out of Norfolk. War and Thunder is a mediocre group.

Well, ESPN sucks, You need to become knowledgeable of musicians and marching bands before trying to organize events like this. Because with this, I thought I was watching a PWI school. NCAT, need help, maybe, you need to attend JSU summer band camp. My High School band would give you a run for your money. I hate it when organizers are dishonest, this band is full of flag girls, you have more flag girls than you have members of the band playing instruments. What the hell with the marching, you are moving sideways like a PWI. This is horrible, never ever again am I going to attend a ESPN BOTB event. ESPN, it is great that you got money, because I see you can buy whatever you want , especially when you are the organizer of this sick event. Are you familiar with HONDA BATTLE of THE BANDS, because HONDA knows how to organize, something you lack or knows nothing about. ESPN stick to SPORTS because-as you can see you are out of your lane.

I have seen better performances by both bands. I don't think either band is better than Southern. A&T there was very little marching. Band stayed in 1 place. No degree of difficulty in ll0what they doing. High school like. Please see Honda BOTB 2010 for a real show and real marching

Southern has been off tempo, not knowing all their music and fluffing on the runs the entire fall 23". They are lucky to be top 5 in the SWAC this season.
