Despite going into the Final Four as the projected favorites, the Duke Blue Devils fell to the North Carolina Tar Heels, 81-77. North Carolina advances to face Kansas for all of the marbles, effectively ending Coach Mike Krzyzewski's career. Colin Cowherd shares his biggest takeaways from the matchup, and what his thoughts were on Coach K. Plus, Colin explains why LeBron James' April Fools joke regarding sitting out for the remainder of the Los Angeles Lakers' season wasn't very amusing.

Great take by Colin, the NBA has been allowing superstars to casually miss games for no reason. The league is taking a hit because of the lack of intensity from players. There’s only a couple of hustle stars. Giannis is basically the only NBA player with a “mamba mentality” humble superstar. Too many guys in the league like Ben Simmons and James Harden who hang out with celebrities and carry themselves like Hollywood actors.

Ask KD and klay about playing injured, you cannot compare a player that only gets one chance to win a National Championship which in most cases is the reason they may or may not make the NBA to a player that have to play 82+ games every year. KD and Klay lost two years of their paying life because they rushed back from injuries. You can't compare the two.

In all fairness, while I do agree with it being nice seeing college players care so much about the game, unlike the NBA, there might not be a tomorrow for many players after their season is over. Guys on that NBA list that didn't play know their run isn't over because they took a night off, which can be taken advantage of at times, but the comparison doesn't really work.

What we know. Coach Ks ego squashed the rivalry. His ego. He knew it was his last game at home. He knew it was UNC. he’s got 6 1st round nba players on his team. He knew all this. He wanted a 12 month look at me praise me tour with the end being his final win over unc at home in front of all Duke loving fans former players. He put all his cards on the table for this 1 game. He lost. Humiliated. Yet the basketball gods smiled on him gave him another chance. No bigger stakes than a trip to final 2. He lost again. This has been a what 30 year fight for dominance who’s the best both teams punching each other in the mouth. This because of K he put it all on the line on his way out the door. K did this. Because he thought no way I loose. He lost both times. This rivalry is over. Done. Because of Ks ego. Only way Duke can even remotely get back on top is to beat Carolina in national championship game. Point blank. Duke u can thank ur ego coach K for this. He rolled the dice. You lost. U can win the next 50 in a row. U can’t make up for these 2 losses. Your welcome.

Comparing a kid playing on a sprained ankle for a national championship that he may never get a chance at again to an NBA player in year 19 during a regular season game that he has more of is completely different. Also, Lebron has given the Lakers, which is still the biggest brand in LA relevance. To say that he’s gotten more out of LA is completely ridiculous. Prior to Lebron they had the worst record in the NBA over the last 5 years. He made them a team that national media actually talk about, how many shows had the Lakers listed in their lineup when they were trotting out a team full of nobodies…stop it Colin.

Very few leave on top a NC. One has nothing to do with the other. K left this way for recruiting reasons. I don't think he stayed too long, and losing to UNC in the FF has nothing to do with that even if it were true. BTW K's circus took a lot of heat off of Roy Williams, who blamed his own players publicly before bowing out. Players who'd make the national title game the next season without him. No one's perfect.

imo... there's no widespread expectation from the NBA for college basketball to prepare or develop players for the league. That's why they only require one and done. So they have no interest in the college game. Compare that to the NFL which uses the college level to develop and help determine who is worthy of being drafted. Its not that the NBA has no interest in the college level's success, but it's significantly less than the NFL.

It's obvious that Colin doesn't watch any regular season college basketball because if you did he would know that star college players sit out regular season games for rest and minor injuries. Really can't get on board with this caring disparity. They care about different things. The n.c.a.a. basketball championship game is cared about more, and has less likelihood of boring you than game 75 of the n.b.a. season. Especially when your playoff position isn't going to improve, even if you win a game that shouldn't be missed. Pay the college players and see how many games they miss because they are going to be paid even if they don't play. The Carolina player doesn't have another big game after the championship game. So of course he cares more.

College basketball is all about the sport, the team, the prestige, and the tradition. NBA has gone to become an uninteresting league, led by the most uncharacteristic superstar in its history, Lebron James. No intensity, all "woke" drama. No defense, 50% of shots being a 3-point shoot around. Even with the better medical and nutrition science can provide compared to 20-30 years ago, there are still the same or even more injuries to star players (who do not play defense and most of the time shoot threes LOL) than ever before. There was a reason why basketball became a global sport, and the NBA being interesting, even when dynasties were created every 4-5 years (1980s - Lakers, Celtics, Pistons 1990s - Bulls). It was a showcase every single night, superstars playing with intensity and passion, fans loving every minute of it, and greatness was not a matter of fame or money or brand, it was about the sport.
