I spent about 2 and a half hours at the North Elizabeth station this past Sunday. I was aware that Track 4 was closed between Newark Airport and Rahway due to switch work, so I was interested to see how things would be handled. Sure enough, one of Amtrak's flatcars was positioned at the station to serve as an extended platform. This provided a uinique opportunity to see westbound trains stopping on Track 3.
