This is so cool, this is the first time I've seen a NASCAR race from that era from the view of a home movie camera..It's like you're there. The music is pretty nice too. Thanks for sharing this, it's a great piece of history your uncle took.

69 was when nascar was nearing the end of "real" racing and the start of the modern era. Guys today except Mark Martin couldn't hold a candle to those guys. Brings back great memories. Thanks for sharing.

Men were men then. Hard men, earning a living the hard way. Closing North Wilkesboro was the beginning of the end of the NASCAR a generation of us had come to know and love. Awesome video!

The only other race video he had taken was at Darlington in 1972. I have it up as Darlington Raceway 1969, but that was before I found out the actual year. Glad you like this one. :O)

Interesting at 1:39 where you see Richard Petty driving a FORD TORINO! Yes, 1969 was the one and only year that he fielded the Torino before going back to Plymouth in '70.

I think this video may be from the Gwyn Staley 400 April 20 1969. Bobby Allison won that race and it looks like they are doing an interview with the 22 Mario Rossi after the race. It's from 1969 since that is the only year Richard Petty ran Fords. Information from the racing reference web site. (youtube won't let me put in a whole website. A note on the site it has a dash between racing-reference and it is dot info not dot com. Great video.

Mark Martin!? Hed just let them pass him as soon as they got to him. I dont think he could handle those guys from back then. It takes someone with balls. Stewert would be my guess as the only one TODAY, that could maybe race with the guys of yesterday.
