NASCAR expanded too fast. forgot the roots of NASCAR. tracks like these are a true treasure.

I wish someone would buy that track from Bruton Smith and have racing, of any kind, there! That was the best short track in NASCAR!

my dad took me there growin up still see that blue 43 wearing out the field.Watched wendell scott take the motor out his race car and put it in the flatbed truck to go home.Such a shame the late models and modified could race here.Money talks and Bruton sucks.

NASCAR needs to dump all these gimmicks of green white checkers, the chase, and now the biggest circus stunt... splitting every race up into 3 segments, and go back to their grass roots, they need to dump the cookie cutter tracks, and head back to North Wilkesboro and Rockingham, and all the other tracks that actually had personal character... I guarantee if they head back here or North Wilkesboro, they would have have sell out crowds .... with out all the "fake excitement" gimmicks.

This is why I hate Bruton Smith, he bought it just to shut it down. Now here it still sits.

Go back in time just like they did with Darlington Raceway's throwback race. They need to turn back time. Make North Wilkesboro a dirt track again. Put it in the chase. Make them race for all they're worth on dirt for points in the chase. Make the races shorter. If they want to shave the sport, they have to remember where they came from. Period. I only watch a hand full of races anymore. Daytona, Talladega, Bristol, Martinsville, Richmond, Texas, and Chicago. Oh and out of all of the races I watch, the big show isn't even a Nascar points race... It is the Prelude to the Dream on the dirt. I think this is what they need to do with NWB. That would be huge if Monster Energy, Goodyear, and a few other big time sponsors stepped up to the plate and turned back the clock. How awesome would that be seriously. To see these guys racing like moonshiners on a short track for big money and chase points? I'd drive there to see it! And I haven't been to a race since Dale Sr. died at Daytona.

Well, the vid made me a little seasick but somewhat interesting.

We need to go back to grass roots NASCAR. Short tracks and superspeedways. Not these stupid Mile and a half tracks that are more boring to watch then seniors playing golf. We need to go back to Rockingham, Myrtle Beach, Texas World, North Wilkesboro, Nashville, Memphis. All those great tracks. Not Charlotte, Atlanta, Texas. All those boring tracks.

NASCAR cannot go back. They’ve made their bed and now they’re going to have to lie in it. I was born & raised about 2 miles from Rockingham. As kids we’d jump the fences and figure a way to get in to watch the old school drivers. Those days are gone and gone for good. Thankfully many old races have been preserved and can be seen here on the Tube. Modern day PC Nascar doesn’t interest me in the least. I’d just as soon watch paint dry.

Nascar needs to do something to bring back the excitement in racing. People use to say racing is boring. Now, they are right. It is totally boring. I am tired of seeing the same ole show each week. Jimmy Johnson just won his 7th championship and will probably win an 8th. However, he would have only won 2 if the old point system was in place. Richard Petty and Dale Sr. did it under the old points system. Jimmy Johnson is not half the driver that these guys were. So, how do they get back to the grass roots of Nascar??? Until Bruton Smith and the France Kid get out of it, it will never return. They ruined it, single handily!! They buy track and closed them because they thought the grass was greener on the other side of the fence. It worked for a year or two, but it isn't working anymore. It is a shame that N. Wilkesboro sits in disrepair and could be sold out for 2 events each year while they race at tracks that are not even half full with fans. It is a shame. Rockingham is the same way. Some of the team owners need to go too. Rick Hendrick and his entire stable need to retire, Richard Childress needs to go with his "born with a silver spoon grand kids" with no talent and a Jr. Circuit championship that was given to him. That was so obvious that it made me sick. They had better shift gears to low and get back to the original tracks that made them what they are today or they will begin to her the roar of the engines with no fans to support the sport. There has not been a true racer since Bill Elliott retired. I think he was the last name that was involved in the surge through the 80's and 90's and not much since. Jeff Gordon, Dale Jr. Tony Stewart, Dale Jarrett and a handful of others were racers, but not to the standard that it use to be. The NASCAR ship has sailed and it is sinking faster and faster with every change they try to make to plug the hole.

Make it back into a dirt track please. Something, ANYTHING. There's not enough tracks out there, and there's more to racing than nascar dammit.
