Really loved watching the races at wilkesboro and Rockingham. My favorite tracks STILL TODAY

I really love living in Wilkes its even better living near the track

All the old drivers should be investors since they love it soooo much

A lot of us would like to see NW, The Rock, and others come back, but the reality is: Who would put up the cash to make it useable again, much less be able to fund the expense of running races. And then, who will race there? NASCAR sure won't. Local drivers can't afford to run enough to support the expense of reopening the track. The fans didn't leave NASCAR; NASCAR left its fans.

They really need to bring back north wilkesboro and Rockingham nascar has really slapped the face of its roots the last few years

If a huge old school NASCAR fan hits the lottery for half a billion dollars please lobby the NASCAR sanctioning body to put this track back on the CUP schedule then buy, invest, renovate and bring this track back to life! Whoever does that will die a martyr of religious proportions!

If I win the lottery, I'm buying the track.

Real estate outside the track now that its getting investment is going to sky rocket. Damn shame NC still has vehicle inspections :/

Let's ALL of us, dig into our wallets, and bring this track back. Do some amateur racing...... nostalgia racing...... run whut-cha brungs...... Some what -the He!!'s....were we thinkings....and, have a school, there. YES! It'll take millions of dollars. YES! There will have to be a lot of demolition, and construction. New codes WILL have to be met. New paving, as well. WE could ALL of us say, WE.... I.... YOU have a part of it. Kyle Petty, and Rutledge Wood, BOTH, are my first choice of caretakers, historians, and supervisors of the entire project. Co-chairmen of the board.

Nascar has made it pretty clear that it has no intention of coming back. When asked about it some representative from Nascar replied with, they would have a lot to do with the cleanup expansion of parking and seating and safer barriers, ...... Safer Barriers ? Why ? The cars barely ever hit 100MPH here what the hell do you need a safer barrier for ? Clearly this is Nascar using that as an excuse so they never have to entertain the idea of ever coming back. They pretty much just said, hey we know noone will come up with the money for all of that as a cop out.

It would be nice to see some type of racing here. Whether it is NASCAR or some other type racing that would be great. But what about the idea of a local sports stadium. Football could be plaid there or soccer. I am sure there is someone out there that would have the money to invest in getting the place cleaned up. I feel NASCAR has gotten away from there roots and have moved more into the corporate world. THanks for doing this video I enjoyed it.

Junior Johnson gave up on the idea finally because NASCAR wouldn't work with him. The only person that has the money, sponsors, possible interest, and power to cause change is Dale Jr...we all know that. Now in 2022 the sanctioning geniuses have had an epiphany that short tracks are great...who knew. Maybe it will gain some interest again. They held a couple SLM races with modifieds about a decade ago, I went to show my support and money, as fans that's all we can do. That was the last time it was used except for testing.

Bottomline is Nascar turned it's back on the fans that supported it for years in the beginning. Too many cookie cutter superspeedways with very boring racing. NASCAR cut the heart out of the sport leaving tracks like NW ,

NASCAR killed smaller tracks and put a lot of people in the poor house!

This is sad these tracks are the one who built what you call nascar and now on the way out so sad

Bunch of multi millionaires standing around waiting for someone else to spend the money. Maybe Petty and Dale jr cough up a few bucks if they want racing back.

There were 3 things that made me quit anything to do with Nascar, (1) was when they left North Wilkesboro Speedway. (2) was when Earnhardt died at Daytona. (3) was when Nascar decided to go WOKE about the Confederate flag. Each one of those drove me away and I haven't watched a race since and personally I don't care if they ever come back to NWS, I'm done with Nascar forever now. Btw I quit watching MLB in '93 after the rich players decided to strike for more money and didn't play a world series that year, and the NFL and NBA is just a bunch of rich WOKE cry babies so I don't and never will watch those again either. I've found that watching local races and sports is much better and deserve my money to support them. Look fans, we have the power to control these rich people when they do stupid things, but if we let them get by with it, we will always be at their mercy.

One of the many mistakes NASCAR has made was to kill the short tracks. It was stupid and has contributed to NASCAR's decline

They lost their minds letting this track and others go to pot. I STOPPED watching because of it. A LOT of others did too. NASCAR sucks now, it just does. Who else would watch but people in NC foothills? Hello????
