Honestly some of these elites are harder than the bosses sometimes. Just one bad hand is all it takes to eat 59 in one turn.

Unless you're able to combine Omega with Duplication Potions, it's just too slow of a build for it to be viable on higher level Ascension levels, imo. Especially with how nasty second and third floor Elites can be.

after watching the first floor boss: this is a good build so far. then i saw the alpha card and im like yes. the offense you need to carry with all the defense.

This should be episode 25, the thumbnail for 23 was used twice which messed things up.

The reason this run did so much better than NL expected, even it ultimately ended by reptomancer, is because this run is actually one of NL's most "watcher-like" watcher run. What makes watcher so strong is that she gets a lot of passive triggers when you play a card. Play cut through fate, scry triggers 2 nirvana, hit enemy triggers talk to the hand. So 1 energy dealt 7, scry 2, gain 8 block, draw 1, and none of these cards were upgraded. You get a chain of stuff from playing one card. That's watcher. So far in most of NL's watcher runs, everything is active, play one card to get one direct result. Play an eruption to do 9 and enter wrath, then play all the damage cards. Try to include more cards that trigger passively. So it becomes play an eruption to do 9 enter wrath, gain 6 block from mental fortress, draw 2 from rushdown, get back flurry of blows... If you think this is too much, you can't visualize it or you think I'm asking you to assemble the Exodia, next time just take flurry of blows when it is offered in act 1. Just take it. You will notice the difference.

NL pay attention to your draw pile. You don't want to shuffle when you are about to get beta. It makes Omega shuffled into your entire deck.

Hey NL, try not saving too many cards for "great future turns", often those cards would make a difference instead of saving them. Of course, every case is unlike the others but for example using the follow up on the last fight might havr saved you

I feel like this run was another victim of NL feeling like he has to take one of the boss cards. You had an awesome thing going with the scry synergies, and basically threw all of that out the window to focus completely on alpha. Scry is pretty good with alpha, but on the second floor you just continued to thicken your deck without even upgrading alpha and at that point it's a little unfair to complain about not drawing it immediately. Definitely a nail biter, though!

nl, you way way overrate the exit stance cards. exiting through a wrath or calm cards is always always always way way better.

Pressure Points is probably the ur-example of a card that scales highly with itself. One Pressure Points is kinda bad. Two Pressure Points is decent. Three Pressure Points is where it starts to take off. Four or more is probably GG. I've had a couple runs that took *SIX* copies, and nothing survived. Attacks were unnecessary.

I’m not sure why NL isn’t a fan of Deus ex machina. Isn’t it basically a card that does the same thing as the upgraded watchers relic? I do totally get not adding it every time, but it seems like it’d fall in that same “flexible energy” category.

OH MY GOD STOP ADDING CARDS! A ALPHA DECK CANT HAVE MORE THAN 20 CARDS TOPS AND ACTUALLY 15 CARDS ONLY

This is such a shame.. This was an awesome synergy that was given to him, but I feel like "old NL" is creeping back in, where he isn't interested in anything but 1-2 "archetypes" and keeps trying to force them into every game, no matter the cards given to him. Also, again, it's a shame seeing him trying to rush trough it, and not thinking about his moves...like, why would you EVER want to toss away Flash of steel if you don't have a limit on how many cards you can play? It's a FREE card, that gives draw & dmg. I hope this is a one off, since he's doing awesome recently!
