I'm so surprised to hear that many viewers drop out before the round-up at the end. I love that part! Today, we got to see Kitty interacting with Barbie, whose big movie is opening this weekend! Kitty looked appropriately impressed, I thought. 😊 > Pipe mouthpieces: Didn't the 2 slim pieces look more like cigarette holders to you? I immediately thought of FDR or the elegant 30s movie stars when I saw those. > Beautiful lids: What if you made interestingly shaped things out of clay to fit the lids - little jewelry/trinket boxes, etc.? I suggest this knowing of course that you have nothing but free time + are always at a loss for projects... 😉😁 Those of us waiting patiently for your shop to reopen would love to see these little creations there (or even just the lids). I'd also love to see little collections of pottery shards - like the little collections you left behind this time - as well. Again, all done in your spare time, of course. 😄😄😄 Thank you so much for another beautiful video. I loved the crabapple shots! You know, you could make ja....... I'm kidding!!! You two just do whatever you WANT to do, and we'll all be out here with you vicariously, learning, dreaming, and enjoying every minute. ❤

Lids make beautiful paperweights. You pop a stone in the lid ( for weight) , fill it with a mortar or plaster of Paris. Put a piece of fabric or felt to cover the bottom and little ceramic shards, marbles, buttons, “bitties” around the raw lid edge. You can make them very glamorous.I find them really useful when I do crafting outside in the summer. I tend to have piles of paperwork in my office and sewing room - they are useful AND pretty. They also make good cookie & scone cutters if well cleaned. I have an old brown one I use for scones. I suppose you could make stampers out of them? How about house key hiders? We have a little stone hippo, but who would think of a teapot lid? (Don’t bother trying to find our house, we’re in NZ!) LOVED THIS VIDEO. Don’t bother with rude kids, take your phone out and video them if they get very offensive, that usually scares them off. Mudlarking obviously agrees with you both, as you look as if you’ve just been on holiday! It must be the fresh air, the excitement of finding new things and just doing what you love. Lang May yer lum reek. Xxxxx

I hit two bucket list items this month! I found sea glass!!! And I was always so floored when you spotted beads but guess what? I found the Itty bittiest little bead and it's pink (my favorite color). I was beyond excited! I was yelling in my best Alex voice "It's a bead!" My son was laughing because he knew exactly what I was doing 😂. Thank you for sharing all your adventures with us.

Alex and Gail, I always stay until the end of your videos...roundup, outro & all. I enjoyed watching you on the river shore finding the little trinkets and treasures the tides have revealed. I think the little girl cake topper would make such a cute cast silver pendant. Alex, I was sorry to hear you say you were subject to abusive language from those kids. You and your mother are so nice - those punks ought to be ashamed of themselves for what they did.

The lid would make a good drawer pull! If you cut off the base (under the floral and handle), you could attach it to a drawer with epoxy for a nice ceramic handle. I also personally love the roundups! You're thoughts and added history bring depth and love to your finds. It's moving and compelling! Love you all! 💕🤟🏼

Your mud-larking adventures are fun to watch. A suggestion on what to do with the lids you find would be an ongoing contest. Ask your viewers if they have a pot that matches, shown with a picture, then award the lid, plus a prize of one of your hand-crafted pieces, to whoever has the pot to match. Good luck with your fun finds.

The oval lid: attached to the wall, it would be a good hanger. If a careful hole was made in a wall, it could be the door to a miniature environment.

I think you should make a lovely fairy cottage out of the beautiful teapot lid you found. You could actually use all the tiny doll white pot lids to make little toadstools and place these in your plants and garden. You could paint up the little porcelain lids to look more like toadstools. Just an idea. Peace

Hi Gail and Alex! Looking forward to jumping onto your new channel and seeing what you have for us there. Excited! ❤😊 As for this video, I love the little lion! Could you try and sculpt the missing bits and cast them? I would love one of those. I also love the little elephants. The one with the little girl rider in tact is amazing that it survived from so long ago. Little treasures! My mom and aunt always wore spoon rings. Maybe you can make some with the handles you find? For the strangely-shaped lids, maybe you can fill them in and make custom stamps with them, sort of like was seals? They are pretty and I love how you rescue so many things.

Great finds. The curved pieces of pottery you find could be cut out and used in bracelets. If you had enough pieces that were close in size and curve you could make a mixed bracelet. Or just use singles in a bracelet with link that would match the curve of the piece or use a nice piece of leather or silk ribbon. And of course the moment I wrote silk ribbon I thought they could also make a nice choke of the curve wasn't too sharp. Now off to check the new channel, can't wait to see what you are up to since you are my favorite Larkers.

the weekend before last we were digging in my backyard..the home dates back to 1917...we felt we were amateur archaeologist with what we were finding...because the property dates back to before local rubbish pickup we were deducing what would have been composted, what would have been incinerated and the rest broken up and used as landfill...we found sections of bottles with raised writing, thus dating it back to a period before labels were printed and stuck on, so, pre 1950's..we were also able to get enough of a name to look it up and find out it was a company that bottled kerosine...it's amazing what one can find in their own backyard...I'd love to do some mudlarking around my suburb, but alas it's not old enough to find anything of interest that would be close to whole...we were finding broken glass, animal bones, broken pottery and shells (food related)

I always watch till the end. :) If you have a thick piece of wood (like barn wood) you could cut out an oval, use heavy duty glue and glue the lid in , hang board on wall and then you can use as a hook for necklaces, keys, a kitchen linen, etc. You could even do a series of three pot lids. It is beautiful so I hope you find a use.

I'm bed bound so can't wander the woods anymore so get my fix through beautiful footage like yours. The gorgeous oval pot lid could be set into the top of a wood box (any old wood to be found?) which could be hand painted to match. I LOVE your round-ups. How can anyone miss them? Ideas: You can buy clay to make trinket box for the old teapot lids. Frame them by glueing thwm onto drift wood. Oe chalk paint old wood and glue them on to make art. Make mobiles. You could drill a hole in one end to hang them. Make mosaic mirrors with old shards of ceramics and pottery. Hope some of these ideas help. You could sell them in your Etsy shop. 😅
