Joe shows you how to install an Extended Roof Bracket.
An Extended Roof Bracket is needed to support any Class A chimney pipe when it extends more than 5' above the roof, or just for that added stability in high wind or snow areas. It provides needed stability for the chimney against wind and snow. Legs extend from 62 Inches to 114 Inches. Mounting brackets and adjustable tubing is included. You will need to provide your own screws to attach the roof support to the roof, all other screws are included.
First attach the bracket that goes around the pipe by placing it just above any seam and gently secure with the screws provided, do not tighten until the end to make sure placement is correct. The side brackets are adjustable to allow proper placement of the legs. Next you will need to assemble the legs to get ready for installation.
To attach the legs you will need to use 2 of the shorter bolts and attach to the bracket, lightly tighten. You will want an approximately 60 degree angles from the pipe to ensure proper support. Attach the roof brackets to the roof in the desired placement, this is where you will need to provide your own screws. Screw down the bracket and be sure to seal with a waterproof sealant to prevent and leaking.
Next you will need to secure the legs with the included long screws in the position you want, You will insert the bolt through the provided holes in the legs and tighten.
Ensure proper position and tighten all bolts. Check for any other issues that may have come up such as a gap in the seal around the storm collar due to the movement of the chimney pipe.

Good lord. Thank you so much for making this video. I bought mine and it has zero instructions in the box. I was so aggravated. I opened it up and I was like how am I supposed to put this whole thing together? This video was excellent and super helpful!!!! ❤

Bought my Duratech chimney at NL Express because of this yoing man's videos. Great customer service, great people. These tutorials deserve some customer appreciation, but virtue signaling aside.... Bottom line, the prices were the best or I'd not be here.

I just wanted to say. This was helpful in clarifying the assembly. Any literature that came with it was lacking a bit in detail in the one picture there is. Thats why Im here. Im not typically challenged by so few parts but I came up with a few options with what I had. Part of it was I was missing nuts and bolts in my kit. No biggie. I actually have the version with the clamps to lock the poles once you have them at the length you want. In that video version you state supports to be used if your 4' or more above the roof. In this video you state 5' or more. Im in the middle some where and doing it for pc. of mind. I don't know if you still make the drill your self version. But if you do. I would suggest pre drilling just the larger diameter pole. That way you have a guide as you then finish drill the smaller pole at the desired length. It would add some safety and minimize awkwardness for someone drilling a hole through a round pc of material while on the roof in a likely awkward position. If that's why you created the clamp style. I just install one , i think the bracket should go to rafters and need also be longer screws for that, i used 4 " screws and put then on the rafters, that way is stronger.

Why not just lift a shingle and put the majority of the flange for the bracket under a shingle allowing the attaching ear to stick through a slot of the shingle 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’m no roof guy I’m sure some masters degree roof tech will $hit on my post 😂

I thought the same thing, and I would probably use roofing caulk instead of clear silicone.

7:15 Seem like you should do the silicone around the storm collar LAST, after the roof brace is done. That would leave some ability to adjust the stack for plumb as you install the braces.

I'm still waiting on a video on how to support the chimney piece to the ceiling, then transition to the double wall black pipe to stove. All the time I've spend researching this all so I can do it right, I'm still not sure of that connection. PLEASE- stove to roof, showing the installation of EVERY component in one video!?!?

Hi Jon M this is not my channel but I plan on making a video from start to finish in about a month if you're interested but my video will be on a metal roof. I have recently put a metal roof video. I think that this video is pretty good for the most part.

is dura tech SS triple wall the same dimensions regardless of brand or exterior metal? will it mate to another brand in other words that looks the same in photos??
