TWA, Swissair, Sabena, Air Afrique, Malev, SAA/SAL, Classic DL livery, Classic AA livery and of course the star of the show Northwest. What great days these were. Thanks for filming this gem.

Classic aviation back then. That NWA bowling shoe livery looks astonishing upon the B744. Thanks for sharing.

I have always loved the Northwest Orient colors & red tail logo as I remember as a kid in the 70's into the 80's up until I forget when Northwest Airlines went to the compass logo. which still have several flight schedules with that logo. Most others like the Bowling Shoe livery. Thank you for sharing! 🙂

So true, we were of the lucky ones to recall it 'live'..to newer avia fans, video will be the only reference.

@@Starboard76 Yeah, that's quite sad... Well, at least we can say we saw the 777s, 787s and the A350s... those will also be gone one day
@Starboard763 жыл бұрын
@@tehanperera4 That's true, but the 777, 787 & A350 generation of avia fans is a world apart from the 707-747 generation. The latter being more in tuned to the nascent stages of development of the jet age (carriers, producers, industry in general).

@@Starboard76 That's true, you could say the same for the US Navy too, in the 80s they had Tomcats, Intruders, Corsairs, Hawkeyes, Greyhounds, Prowlers and Hornets. Now you'd just see Super Hornets and Lightning IIs. Variety is fading fast from the world.

If you are wondering what terminal they are in JFK it's terminal 4. The flight here only Terminix to Tokyo leaving Minneapolis Tokyo Narita to continue to Manila Philippines so is NW71/72 EWR-DTW🇺🇲-NGO🇯🇵-MNL🇵🇭. Because I picked up my father's classmate in 2005

4:20 kind of eerie seeing the twin towers in the background, knowing that they along with many airlines in this video are no longer with us

Sadly the only Boeing 747 i rode was a Saudia Arabian Airlines 747-400 i wish i had a chance to ride other 747s with a different airline
@Starboard763 жыл бұрын
Well..look at it this way. We have a worldwide generation of young aviation fans who never have and NEVER will fly any kind of 747. I see their comments all the time.

@@juanone66 correct with a notion, yes the WTC clearly notes as a before scene but these clips are not the same day or week. My JFK footage, and I have a lot, is from 2000 to 2006.
