I agree this is one of the nicest looking school bus, especially green floor indeed a definate rare sight to see.. though I was hopeing for green walls which when I was in Junior high, our driver got a new bus a 1978 Ward , predecessor to the IC.. which is the grandfather/mother of this bus.. back on track here we had green interior with green walls and floor and dash panel and step well.. along with the jack knife manual service door. looking good .. thanks for sharing my friend

Must have been ordered with Green interior and Dayton Wheels, Both of these options have been out since 2000 so they must have been special ordered. I do love it, very well maintained.

I wonder if this system owned the latest Amtran on the standard 3800 Chassis. My school system I grew up in had Amtrans from the 99/00 school year and 3 years later they got IC CEs and another set of IC CEs the following year. And of course the only differences between the 02/03 IC CEs from the 99/00 Amtrans are the front end cap. Windshield. Instrument panel as well as door and drivers window as well as the driver seat but the rest of the body is the same as the Amtrans. As the 00 Amtrans had short back driver seats and luckily the 03 IC CEs had high back. And the 04 IC CEs were the same as the 03s except for the window channels being redesigned and the IC logo on the front over the door and drivers window as the 03s had NO logo due to a logo change.

These are nice school buses. I actually like the more modernized hood on the late model AmTran school buses and early model IC CEs. And yes, IC sold school buses in Canada. But, I have yet to see one of these old model CEs pop up. I honestly think that the newer model Corbeil school buses could have benefited from using the newer hoods and dashboards that the early model IC CEs had. But the logo on the hood would've been a regular International logo instead of the IC logo. I love the Corbeil school buses, but the newer model Corbeil school buses would look so much better these redesigned hoods. Oh and Corbeil also made Freightliner school buses unlike AmTran and are very rare to come by. In fact, even my school district doesn't have a Corbeil Freightliner school bus.

I'm looking for a used bus. I hear the 5.9 Cummins is a pickup truck motor and too small for a bus. I think the 5.9 Cummins may only be in the city buses and not in the activity highway buses. Is the new Cummins in the 2016 the same as the 5.9 or is it a larger more powerful Cummins? What motor should I be looking for in a used bus?
