They need to put this proposal in front of the community first before making citizens pay. It should be voted on like everything else. How does it cost $20 million to clean up the watershed? I volunteer for a non-profit organization and know of many others that help clean the waterways. Situations like this are why citizens and the community don’t trust professionals, because they charge us so quickly without us being aware of the specifics behind their reasoning. If this was voted on, we could find a way to do this that benefits everyone in the long-term. We could help provide funding for citizens that can’t afford upgrades. Instead they just sent a bill. That’s not right and everyone who is involved in this should do better.
