Northwestern University campus in Evanston Illinois looked a little bleak in this mid-December afternoon of 2023: trees were bare and it was near Christmas. But the clarity, the around-freezing temperature, the sunshine, and the serenity created a singular charm of this world-class university.
Upon passing Weber Arch, I meandered through the campus. The buildings along my way included University Hall, Annie May Swift Hall, Deering Library, Jacobs Center, University Library, Swift Hall, Dearborn Observatory, and some residence halls on the northernmost campus. The existence of Lake Michigan reinforced the charm of the campus.
