I was there for this wonderful game with my daughter who had just enrolled at MSU. She wore green but over her purple Cats shirt. She had been there with me for the '96 game over Michigan, 17-16, and was a freshly minted Cats fan. She couldn't lose either way, but we went nuts at the end, three times!

Incredibile, the most underrated game in NU history. I was there when I was 10 years old, and I still remember the feeling when Wasiliewski's kick went through the goalposts.

I have NO MEMORY of this game. AWESOME!

Between September 11th, the game being played early in the season, and the fact that the 2001 season didn't exactly finish the way many hoped it would, this game tends to get forgotten. And the Cubs were in the middle of a pennant race in September of that year, so the game probably didn't even get a huge share of local sports coverage.

Northwestern still had Kustok for this season? I thought they struggled this year because he graduated after 2000. I wish you included more of the replay angles in your videos.

Funny thing is that if you're a Spartan fan, there's easily 5 losses that were worse that decade. At least this loss got Bobby out of town.
