I purchased the Nortiv8 waterproof hiking shoe on you know who's website. The price was so good I remained skeptical until I did an initial five mile walk, and then a Three mile hike up a NW Washington Cascade mountain trail to a waterfall . Rocky with wet logs. More than a good hiker for the money. I'd be happy at 90 bucks or so. Happy feet. Happy wallet!

The Armadillo II appears to be a well-made, high-quality boot which provides plenty of protection at a reasonable price. I wish that I had known about those before investing in pair of waterproof hiking boots which I bought on Clearance at Walmart several years ago. When I got them out to wear a year or so later, the soles had dry-rotted and peeled off the boot and crumbled.I suppose that we get what we pay forr. I love my tactical motorcycle/combat boot. It has a zipper up. Decide what makes it easy to get it on and off once you've adjusted the laces like you said. One of the best out of the box

Never heard of Nortive, so I can't vouch. I have though have owned MULTIPLE pairs of "Hi-Tec" brand of boots & hiking shoes. I had to wear the Hi-Tec brand as they have wide width option for men. Their boots I wore while I was doing a grounds work of mowing--LOTS of push mowing and weed-trimming. Would be interesting to compare Nortive to Hi-Tec as they look quite similar in design. Another design aspect that I liked in the Hi-Tec was the shanked sole, meaning it had a metal plate in the sole for support and protection.

Man I’m always crossing brooks and streams, here in Nova Scotia this year it’s felt like the wettest year ever. That being said I wear big clunky Dunlop rubber boots every time I’m out in the woods. For the price of these hikers I may have to give them a try. Thanks James!

They really are a good fitting quality boot. I have the 8 inch combat motorcycle boot that zips up on the side. Once you get it laced where you want it. You never have to unlace it again. Just zip it on and off great boat super comfortable

I think you picked a good product to sponsor. I like the options you mentioned, but I like higher sides to tuck my pants in to keep spiders and bugs out. Main thing is they need to be waterproof. I think the top worse things on a hike are wet boots.

Had my boots for a few weeks. I have been using them to plow snow in front of my house. I bought them to hike with my son's but they preform great when I was using to snow blow. My feet never got wet and they are very comfortable. They are holding up and I am very pleased with my purchase. 5 out of 5 stars.

We will absolutely check these boots out. Beautiful Bride and our your troops are easy to fit and have plenty of footwear. I am not so fortunate because I need a wide width. Generally, inexperienced clerks in the footwear department want to stuff my foot into a shoe that is far too long and they will not "break" properly on my foot. Hopefully, Nortiv ships overseas. If not, perhaps a friend back home will receive an order and ship it to me in a balikbayan box.

Dang thats the one thing I don't like,, is the oversized bottom, for me i find that it doesn't let my foot roll it wants to keep it flat which in turn takes my ankle with it. Im going to be looking for my next hikers with a bottom no bigger then the boot or smaller even. Good looking boot though, glad they work for you

Been wearing a localy made analog of Lowa Zephyr (sneaker version) - charging socks I would go all seasons with it, summer up to 36c (97f) and down to -10 (-12), a bit slippery on ice, but makes me curious just how good the original is.

I can't tell you how often I've had to tell a shoe salesman to measure and fit my left foot. If it fits, the right one will too but not necessarily in the reverse. Left is slightly larger but close enough for me to manage if done right. Sometimes, the right shoe simply needs a second insole.

The same place almost every other pair of shoes has made these days. A red wing representative told a friend of mine that you should always buy your shoes made in China because they do not have the same restrictions on glue that the EPA has placed on our manufacturers over here. As a result even fairly expensive shoes can delaminate, and the soles come loose.

What about the laces. Do they stay tied or os it a full time career to keep tying them? I have noticed mosr round shoe laces are like that and I don't buy them. I had some bpots one time that you could literally walk across the room and they were untied again.

I've had no trouble at all with these staying tied. They haven't come loose even once and I've been wearing them a lot.
