@@AskMeStartUp thanks, yes I found the analysis to be quite good. The only part I discussed with my wife about (she's norwegian and works with HR) is that of the salary needing to be higher at the next employer. She knows of a recent higher that is now making 30,000 euro less in the new job. I run a CMO practice where we help startups create and iterate their lead generation funnels--we do it as a training for their team or as a DFY service.

@@Georgeworldwide Very interesting, I once did contract research with a Norwegian company, the guys had issues finding local Norwegians they could pay be competitive. They explicitly told me they had to hire someone with no track record in Norway. Else they would have lost the business.

@@AskMeStartUp Definitely a talent shortage in some industries. Here local IT recruitment is a huge challenge.

Great video, some things need to be updated since things have changed (and will continiously) on the offerings and possibilities in Norway. I agree with a lot of points but there are very good opportunities for start-ups if you know where to start and how to work strategically. This goes for any business but I mean on getting support, help and guidance in your startup phase and further.

Thank you this is very informative. Im a hairdresser and my wife is a photographer and we are in Dubai at the moment but we planning to relocate to Norway next year as Dubai will be so overwhelming in expenses when we have kids while Norway will help us in education and health care if we become Norwegians.

@@AskMeStartUp I’m a little confused about the focus on high expenses. While it is more expensive, you also make a lot more. Won’t that just equalise the picture?

@@Ahduciekwndnbbbsvvvghhhyyyyy That is true if you focus solely on Norway as a market, If you need export things look different. Here, from my perspective, Switzerland is the better option.

Interesting video. Me and my brother started a carpenter/painter company (bygg og data) in 2017. We are now ca 10 guys. You have many good points, and I agree on the risk averse teory. It's strange actually. for my part if norway did not had the good social security net for us (nav) I would not take the chance of starting up the company in case we failed and I could not pay for food and rent.

You look at just the largest companies on the stock exchange to find startups?

I look at the largest companies in order to get an estimation how well the business surroudnings in a country are. A the ende you want a country that enables world brands and not burn all of its Startups.

Is it true that stingy single people in Zug, Switzerland, can save on average 3690 euros every month after all the taxes and expenses?

Zug is a great place, but where do you get your number from? Taxes are low but rents are high, all other costs of living are approximatley 50% above those in Germany. So to me your number needs some verification and context.
