I just got back from a cruise on the Prima. It is a very nice ship, the staff were probably the nicest I've ever worked with on a ship. I've been on some cruises where you could tell the staff despised being there. I think there are 2 flaws on this ship: 1. the main dining room is much too small. You could rarely find a table unless you went super early or late but during peak times forget it, there was zero chance. The spillover seating in the restaurant is somewhat far down a hallway and not ideal. On previous ships I never had an issue finding a table during any time of the day in the main dining area. 2. that go kart track on the roof is a novel idea but I think in 7 days, I saw one kart going around the track. I checked it out and it was maybe $10-15 per session so it priced the passengers out and was not used. That space could be better used for a walking track or larger multi purpose area OR make the kart racing affordable. There is no walking space per se on the ship except walking on the deck and dodging people, lawn chairs, etc.

I’ve cruised on many ships . This was the worse experience. Dirty carpets in the cabin . Tables that were chipped in the outside eating area . Staff were good , generally. Had trouble getting our room done, if we wanted a lie in . Didn’t like all the small venues . Not enough signage . Meals were often cold . In the main dining room we had to have a request noted to have hot meals . Buffet, well I’ve had better. Lots of cold food again . No gluten free soups or desserts . I could go on and on . Trips cancelled, through no fault of theirs but didn’t add to the success of the trip . Big fail in my books . Won’t travel with them again

Don't even waste your time and money with this ship or any with Norwegian The ship is beautiful, I agree. The food is great. Otherwise, it's crap O

We were on Prima on potentially the same cruise as you? (The one where Belfast was cancelled due to weather?) We loved the ship, especially the entertainment in the Syd Norman's Bar and the overall quality of the food in all venues was the best we've had on a cruise ship so far! Love the walkthrough, especially with those views of Reykjavik in the background :)

Glad you enjoyed the video! I know we really enjoyed the ship, and our cruise. We were on a sailing from Southampton to Reykjavik--we missed out on a stop in Bruges and one in Iceland. Still a great time--thanks for watching!

Prima being beautiful and having delicious food are the only things to this trip I slipped/fell nearly 36 hours ago due to poorly maintained decks and my knee STILL badly hurts. Luckily my ribs/side no longer hurt but, for 18 hours, ribs/side and knee pain were aggravating as fuck

Very useful and will review again prior to departure next month out of Galveston. I was considering the unlimited go cart pass but you can only buy on the ship. From what Im finding this is not popular for some reason?

We had a great time on the karts-even though it was very cold as we were in Iceland, lol. My son also did the single rider kart and set the record for our sailing. If you enjoy karting, I think you’ll have a great time. Prima is a nice ship with a lot to offer! Let us know your thoughts after you cruise.

Why didn't you go inside Syd Norman's or the Improv? It would be a better walkthrough to see these areas. Like the Celebrity Edge ships, lots of neutrals and soft colors and this one seems a bit sterile where the Celebrity just lacks Celebrity personality. Certainly pretty in an inoffensive way for the most part but products should also have the personality of their brands.

Hey Benjamin, I believe on this one Syd Norman’s was full of Art work at the time…. I get comments both ways on this issue…. Seems most folks would rather just walk through for the layout rather than each dining room, venue, etc in depth. We just got off the Celebrity Ascent a few weeks ago and if I had to choose between these two I would definitely go with the Ascent personally. Prima does have some fun areas more suited for teens, but overall I love the Edge class from Celebrity! Thanks for watching.

@@thecruiseworld My dislike of the Edge ships has to do with my connection with Celebrity and that the Edge ships actually delete areas of Celebrity ships I had my best times in. I like music venues but not always open ones. Two of the 3 main music/dance venues on the Edge class are open ones. My time onboard Celebrity ships were not in big open spaces like Eden or the Edgee's version of the Martini Bar, or even nightclub areas like The Club, but in dedicated areas for music/dancing or social events like the Rendezvous Lounge, Sky Lounge, Ensemble Lounge, etc. NCL, the same thing. That's why I find it important to see the music or comedy type of spaces to get a feel for how they are set up and their overall size for music acts, possible dancing, or for a club-like vs. in a hotel lobby or atrium type of environment. Also, one of the complaints, and a big one, is Syd Norman is too small on the Prima and Viva and it's useful for people to see just how small the spaces are and how much seating is available for them. I'm also not big on suite passenger perks taking up so much of the public area of new ships and that's where both NCL's Prima class and Celebrity's Edge class are going. They're not Cunard.

I am on the Prima now. Norwegian is a HORRIBLE cruise line! I just sent them this comment through their website. On top of this comment, this ship only seems to offer luxury stores, pools are tiny, entertainment onboard is rather lackluster, too many areas feel like a sauna (haven't they heard of air conditioning?!), deck is constantly slippery and horrifically maintained. Total waste of time and money. With that said, here is what I wrote via their website:

@@thecruiseworld thanks. I'm going to Alaska on Disney this September The cruise overall isn't a letdown. Costa Maya and Harvest Caye were amazing...as I'm sure Rohatan and Cozumel will be Also, the guest relations manager heard my concerns today and gave me some discounts

What a waste of a ship! The infinity pools featured can hold 5 people at best. They are tiny! If you want to eat at a specialty restaurant good luck! They don't have the kitchen facilities to cook for everyone. At best they can only handle a 50% capacity. They are 1/2 empty and tell passengers they can't eat there. Also, when you're in Port, you notice soot balls on the decks. Look at the fabric on all the longest deck 8. Black streaks on all the fabric. We had black feet from the soot balls on the Vibe. Also entertainment has been cut 50%. Pool deck entertainment is almost non-existent. The filet mignon in the specialty restaurants sucks. It has been replaced with a cheap and fatty cut of meat. Terrible! Norwegian is nothing special anymore. We are reevaluating our vacations with them. Also the buffet closes at 9:30 p.m. The only food to eat is at O'Sheehans which sucks. Look at Celebrity or other cruise lines which are more upscale. Norwegian, for the money, sucks!
