Norwegian pronunciation can be hard! In this video I‘m helping real students by giving them feedback to their Norwegian pronunciation. They sent me recordings of them speaking Norwegian, and I explain the mistakes they make and how they can fix them.

If you are learning Norwegian, make sure to also take the time to work on the pronunciation. The Norwegian alphabet contains a few letters that don‘t exist in other languages, but more importantly, most letters are not pronounced the same way as in English! If you‘d like to sound natural in Norwegian, it is crucial for you to develop a good pronunciation.

Thanks for the feedback, Werner. Very encouraging to hear that all the practice is paying off. I took lessons with one of Skapago's teachers last fall and he helped me immensely. I will continue to practice with your tips!

Hi! I think I’m having some problems with double R like in norrøn or størrelse. I found it quite hard to make a trill in the middle of a word; and many native speakers didn’t pronounce that sound clearly, but instead they used something similar to an alveolar approximant.

I hear a tap instead of a trill. Norrønt /nu:rønt/
