Synopsis:
"Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror" is a 1922 silent German horror film that tells the story of Count Orlok, a vampire who brings terror and plague to the town of Wisborg. The film begins with estate agent Thomas Hutter being sent to Transylvania by his employer, Knock, to facilitate the sale of a property to Count Orlok. Hutter leaves his wife, Ellen, behind and embarks on a journey filled with ominous warnings and strange occurrences.
Upon arriving at Orlok’s dilapidated castle, Hutter becomes increasingly uneasy. During dinner, Hutter accidentally cuts his thumb, prompting Orlok to try to suck his blood. Hutter wakes the next morning to find strange punctures on his neck. As the days pass, Hutter discovers Orlok's true nature as a vampire when he finds him sleeping in a coffin. Orlok soon sets his sights on Ellen, having seen her portrait and commented on her "lovely neck."
Orlok travels to Wisborg via a ship, bringing death and rats with him. The sailors aboard the ship die under mysterious circumstances, and Orlok takes control of the vessel. Meanwhile, Ellen, sensing danger, reads a book on vampires that Hutter brought back, learning that a pure-hearted woman can defeat a vampire by distracting him with her beauty and sacrificing herself.
In the film's climax, Ellen lures Orlok to her bedroom, where he drinks her blood. However, the dawn breaks, and the sunlight causes Orlok to vanish, saving the town from his evil. Ellen dies in her husband's arms, having sacrificed herself to end Orlok's reign of terror.
