18:57 According to Mark Webb, he based his face on the 60s ers Lizard with the flat snout and felt if he had one, he wouldn't talk properly with no lips and wouldn't allow enough expressions. (A la Lion King remake.) And felt that would the most realistic way to make Lizard as realistic as they could've done with the series.

I agree with nostalgia critic. It is good but it isn't amazing. I still think I like tom Holland more but Garfield was still very good

I think he made a good point i hs review of the raimi films all the spiderman films no matter which ones you prefer have something of value in them some more than most but i enjoy all of them even the bad stuff

This was actually the first Spiderman movie I saw, and while it's not flawless and future movies are much better (Spiderverse all the way) I do still like this one. It might also help that I never saw the sequel, so I think of it more as a stand alone reboot, which might be why I still like it as much as I do.

I would say that the reason Homecoming isn't compared to the Reimi films as much is probably because it's setting was in the Avengers Universe and has very strong ties to the MCU overall, so it's more of a Marvel movie than a Sony Spiderman movie. Plus it's not an origin story.

I liked that the organic web-shooters in the Raimi films got past the fact that Peter was explicitly poor. Him developing his own tech when he couldn't afford rent would've been a severe inconsistency.

I wonder how much that costume cost poor Peter Parker in the Raimi films. It’s very much a Hollywood costume. Just saying lol

But seriously. Thanks for sharing your opinion. You make a good point.

Agreed. I like Tom Holland but he’s not exactly what I’d picture a Spider-Man to be like. The best one in general to me is Peter B. Parker from Into the Spiderverse. But Andrew is best live action for sure

I always really liked this movie. Say what you want about the second film, but I think this one is great and deserves more credit than it receives.

At least when Sony rebooted Spider-Man to hang on the rights it had action moments and the villains weren’t that boring unlike fox’s attempt at rebooting the fantastic four which had nothing not even a Stan lee cameo that’s how much they didn’t care about fant4stic the amazing movies have their problems but at least there was something to them and there were people who clearly cared behind the scenes

The parents plot was good but it shouldn't have been the main plot and I like Andrew's a better Peter than Tobey mainly because he acts like the Peter I read about he isn't always a nerd when not in the suit

14:34 - 14:53 Okay, this is one of the complaints I tend to agree with about Amazing Spider-Man. In the original, Peter lets the robber go because he got gypped for the money he was supposed to win from a petty prick who had it coming. Thus, it makes Uncle Ben's death more tragic when he realizes what he could've done to stop Uncle Ben from dying, and that what Peter had done instead wasn't worth his loss. Here, Peter lets the robber go because the clerk is following the store rules, and he got gypped for his... milk. F#*&ing milk!
