I absolutely love your Nefertimon and Pegasusmon being the ancestors of Patamon and Gatomon theory. It would make sense that the Armor evolutions are shortcuts to Digimon who used to exist in the ancient world but are no longer around

I think maybe volcarona could beat mothmon just cause while not having as such widespread abilities, it is just more specialized. It can produce a whole lot of heat and fire. To the point where it can replace the solar power of the sun when there was an eruption that blocked the sun out with ash. So it might be able to beat Mothmon with the raw power of its fire.

okay so you got me thinking. there's an ancient digimon world. some very few digimon are decendants/"reincarnations" after the few who survived the x-program. what if the digieggs are backup files for certain digimon forms. when used on a digimon it will obtain the form of the most compatible digimon stored in the backup EDIT: f.ex. veemon + digiegg of courage becomes flamedramon, because it's the stored form that most resembles veemon (perhaps genetically). this would explain why different digimon digivolves into different formes with the same digiegg.

During season two of Digimon it was generally shown that Armor digimon were around Champion level but not actual champions, just a way to digivolve to keep themselves safe as it was pretty hard to digivolve normally at that time. Gold armor digivolution is different as it takes the digimon to around Ultimate or even Mega level strength.

This is a great video, I was doing my own little research on armor digivolutions and the one thing i have noticed while doing the research is that some digimon tend to share digivolutions with others and that digimon can digivolve into a variety of forms that may not even seem to be related at all, which sparked some questions why does something like these happen, does a specific form of data need to be required for a specific evolution, how are these new forms come up, is there something in the digital world that determines what you will turn into, and there are other questions that I not have time to put in, but hey I love you're videos so keep coming up with great content like this.

Asking about the power level of Amour level digimon is far from a dumb question, but is very interesting for specific reasons. Some amour level digimon do fill the role of champion level in a few digivolution lines, while others fill the ultimate level. On a rare occasion, an armour level digimon is so powerful, that it is on the level of a mega or super-ultimate/ultra (whatever term you prefer using). Magnamon is an amazing example of how armour level digimon are not always considered champion level in power

Good video, I really enjoy the content about Patamon armour digivolution. Now that you mention that strength of most armour Digimon is that of a Champion level it make me wonder if Akihiro Kurata, from "Digimon Data Squad'" found a way of unlocking an Armour Digimon(s) hidden potential by replacing the data that was holding them back with human genes. As a result of I heavily believed that Bio-Hybrids Armour forms were Ultimate. However, when Bio-Hybrids gain mega forms they Felt underwhelming compared to their Armour form. Now i don't ever want to piss out a Bio-Hybrid who can digivolve into either BioRapidmon, BioMagnamon or BioGoldVeedramon for sure, lol! I also notice that the some Bio-Hybrids digimon lost some of their Family attribute as a consequence of merging Human DNA with Digimon Data For example: - BioThunderbirdmon lost Metal Empire - BioDarkdramon lost Dark Area and Dragon's Roar - BioSupinomonlost Nature Spirits - BioStegomon replaces his Nature Spirits family with the Dragon's Roar family Anyway, I can't wait for more, especially that human digivolution, digimon video!

To indulge your question, Volcarona would literally fry Mothmon - it replaced *the sun* when the sun would not come up in ancient times. So, the heat from its wings is absolutely lethal, especially if you happen to be a bug of any kind, Pokemon, Digimon, or whatever else. 💀 But I have to say I really don’t appreciate the Pokemon jabs. It’s not the 90s anymore, people can like Pokemon AND Digimon, the way I do. The series don’t even have that much in common, literally just monsters that are based on mythology (Pokemon can be deep and even dark as well, just look up Lockstin and Gnoggin’s videos on Pokemon.) The villains in Pokémon games are also pretty dark, especially after Gen 3. Ghetsis literally tries to murder you/your friend, which I don’t think any human villain in Digimon has really done (at least definitely not in Adventure, Oikawa even did the opposite of this and protected Iori from being ganged up on by Archnemon and Mummymon (Oikawa is an amazing villain for sure, and I would like to see your video on human villains with him and Ken, who are my favourite characters in Digimon.) Maki and Menoa didn’t try to actually *kill* the Digidestined and were just tragic villains, though both Oikawa, Menoa, and Maki remind me a bit of Cyrus from Pokemon since they’re tragic villains who were willing to place the world in peril and even destroy/reset it just to ease their pain (more so Maki ~ Cyrus), and being intelligent/socially isolated (Oikawa/Menoa ~ Cyrus.) And arguably, the struggle/isolation of being a genius, so (Ken/Menoa[/possibly Oikawa] ~ Cyrus], parental neglect [Oikawa ~ Cyrus], and unrealistically pushing children to succeed/exploiting their intelligence for attention/admiration [Ken ~ Cyrus.]) But no human villain that I know of has been an outright Ghetsis who tries to literally kill you. Digimon villains, yes. Myotismon was willing to have the 8th child killed, but he’s not a human being, so it hits a little different since his data is literally written for him to act in that way (Virus/NSo), and you could make the argument he cannot help but act in the way he was coded (though Dorumon/Alphamon certainly present a challenge to this, as Dorumon fought his mindless/genocidal code.) When a *human* tries to kill you, it’s a big moral problem with that person, so yes, Pokemon can indeed be very dark and deep, since a lot of Pokemon villains are social commentary on problems with modern society (Giovanni/Team Rocket re: crime/placing profit over living things and abusing them for the purposes of such, Maxie/Team Magma re: exploiting land for the purposes of human development at the expense of the environment (which we are suffering now), Archie/Aqua re: taking environmentalism too far, and stunting all progress/innovation), Cyrus/Team Galactic re: joining what is clearly a cult, lol, but re: Cyrus, what happens when you neglect your child’s emotional needs and treat them like a machine/only care about perfection (nothing they do lives up to these impossible standards, which is a very endemic circumstance in Japanese culture), pushing them to the point of emotional numbness/social isolation and pressuring them to the point of psychological breakage, so much so that they would rather be dead than continue living in a world where all they have to look forward to is loneliness and crazy work hours (Japanese men are literally dying of heart attacks in their 40s and 50s due to overwork, and alcoholism is very common to deal with work stress, most are also too busy or even socially isolated to start families), which is implied by Cyrus remaining in the distortion world - that man is likely very dead, lol.) Then outright genocide like Lysandre wanted to do - we do see something like this with Yggdrasil’s X program, but it targeted Digimon, not people. Lysandre wants to kill 98% of HUMANS, and rebuild the world with only “beautiful” people/Pokemon/things (basically, he is a narcissistic eugenicist, and it’s a pretty scathing commentary on population control.) And Ghetsis once again is a homicidal, power-hungry maniac who manipulates people emotionally with seemingly “good” causes like “Pokemon liberation,” using the innocent and the stupid as fodder for his scheme to basically take all methods of defence away from people and only have himself be able to use Pokemon (you could say it’s a commentary on things like Communism, where guns and other things were taken away from regular people and only the Party was allowed civilian use of them, and on how easily manipulated people can be with “social justice” language [“Pokemon oppression/liberation” is sounding very similar to language that is in usage right now, those games are brilliant for predicting the West’s current descent into insanity, though they were a criticism of PETA as well, which is a horrendously hypocritical organisation once you really dig into it.]) And Guzma of Team Skull is a commentary on the cyclical nature of familial abuse/dysfunction (his father beat him with golf clubs as a child, though he returned the favour when he got older and ran away - he was also an underachiever who became a jerk/bully gangster to basically emotionally protect himself, but he was a good person at heart. That describes a lot of young children who join gangs and form their own “societies” to cope with basically being rejected by mainstream society/looking for affection and belonging and starved of it so much they’re willing to commit crimes just for that sense of family they never had... so, where Cyrus went inward and isolated himself, Guzma went outward and bullied others/established a group to sabotage and rebel against the society that rejected him.) So yeah, there is richness in Pokemon as well, and we can cease making these competitions about “oh, a Pokemon could never compete with x,” or “Digimon are just dogs with guns attached to them.” It’s dumb and tbh childish. You’re a truly incredible and intelligent guy, so I’m a little disappointed to see you falling into this toxic pattern of putting another franchise down to bring the one you like up. Both Pokemon and Digimon are close to my heart, and both have characters I’ve related to, who have seen me through some really traumatic and depressing moments in my life. Both allowed me to dream, to escape, and to learn. So, both are good in their own way, and there is no need to trash one or the other. I hate it when Pokemon fans do it, and I don’t like it any better when Digimon fans do, especially since Digimon arguably owes a lot of its success to the popularity of Pokemon, which opened the door for it to reach mainstream fame. Neither one pioneered the concept of monster catching/taming, but no one can argue that Pokemon is the one who exploded it, and allowed Digimon to reach a really wide audience as well, since monster taming anime/manga/entertainment weren’t really a popular thing outside Japan before Pokemon. Could you make an argument Digimon might have done it? Maybe. Then again, maybe not - maybe it would have faded into the darkness like prior monster taming media, and we wouldn’t even be discussing it because we wouldn’t know what Digimon is, or just have a subbed Adventure 01 to discuss and absolutely nothing else, because no one took the HUGE financial risk to globalise it. Be grateful when a door is open, not resentful of the one who opened it for you. It’s like saying Prince fans should hate Michael Jackson because he (and it Prince) was the one to literally open the door for black entertainers to become successful and pushed for the inclusion of black artists on mainstream platforms like MTV/created the concept of story-driven music videos. Would Prince have done it instead? Maybe, or maybe not. But the fact is Michael did it, and like that, Pokemon was the one to break barriers re: anime being considered worth investing in/popular outside of Japan. It’s become the biggest franchise in the world, outclassing even *Disney.* And because of Pokemon’s huge risk-taking and consequent success, other franchises took riskier decisions as well and we got things like Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, etc. in their original anime formats and not entirely Westernised like, say, Sonic (the Western Saturday morning cartoon version.) And anime became more mainstream (sure, Sailor Moon and DBZ existed/were also fairly popular at the time, but networks took on more anime in the hopes of having another huge success like *Pokemon*, so once again, it opened that door, along with the above franchises [SM for anime aimed at girls/women, DBZ for shonen]. It also opened the door to having anime theatrical releases based on existing TV media (not isolated stories like Studio Ghibli, though SG is another anime barrier breaker/cultural icon), as Mewtwo Strikes Back had phenomenal BO numbers, and was the reason we even *got* the Digimon OVAs, mangled as “The Digimon Movie” may have been (40 whole minutes cut....), lol. At least we still got to see it, and for me, witnessing the birth of Omnimon on the big screen was one of the most iconic moments in my childhood. So, no more brother wars. Both series are great and we should acknowledge Pokemon as a franchise that broke down barriers and allowed Digimon to also be a huge success, not bicker like children.

Well 1 thing about Rhinomon being allied to the Bagra Army, although he's the antagonist of the Cross Wars he isn't exactly evil if I remember correctly. And if I do remember correctly he's trying to bring order by removing what he sees as an unjust system forced upon them by "God". So it could in theory sympathize with Bragramon in that regard.

well, as far the original vpets are concerned patamon did in fact not digivolve into angemon (angemon was already part of the gabumon/elecmon line), but into unimon (the original pegasus) and centarumon exclusively, while he shared ogremon, sukamon and bakemon as champion forms with kunemon. it's likely pegasusmon was loosely based on that fact.

You should know that Gatomon and Salamon are both can Armor Digivolve into the same Digimon. I think some of the Armor Digimon looks more like Salamon then Gatomon.

PSA- Digimon don't necessarily have set digivolution lines. Patamon has 72 different Champion stages (though, I am including armor) across all media (digipets, card game, video games, ect). This is how you can get a line like Patamon > BlackGatomon > Antylamon > Meramon, or Patamon +Digiegg of Knowledge > Mothmon > AlturKabuterimon (Red) > Craniamon

I was certainly surprised when you used my comment, pleasantly that is. Now about your question about Pipismon and Mothmon. Pipismon's hearing might make it vulnerable to Golbat's sonic attacks. Golbat also uses toxins to weaken their prey before latching onto them and gorging up to 10 ounces from their victim, enough to change their blood type. As they tend to hunt in colonies, this is certainly lethal. They are like your vampire bats from old Halloween movies, only bigger, more numerous, and worse. They will also utilize their large move pool to ensure their meals, moves like air slash which making and launching blades of compressed air that will cut through most materials, air cutter which launches razor winds though for some reason when golbat uses the move it is S shaped, shadow balls are also not too terribly uncommon. Let it be known that the Zubat line aren't the only bat species around. There are swoobats which are more so known for their heart shaped marks, and Noivern which are bat Wyverns that can produces sounds from their ears that will instantly reduce large boulders to rubble. With Mothmon there are plenty of moth and butterfly pokemon for it to contend with, each of which makes often use of powders from their wings. The most appropriate one from the top of my head is Venomoth, the evolution of venonat. It has a very effective method of hunting. As far as pokemon goes, it is one of the only poison types to learn psychic type moves. It holds the prey in place in front of it while it douses them with it's poisonous scales which are lethal in small doses. After which it is meal time, if the prey fights back, it can easily defend itself. Quite effective Venomoth's hunting tactics are. Mothmon certainly has zero chance against a Volcarona, Mothmon certainly isn't sun proof.

There is only one holy Digimon left to talk about who is in the same spot as gatomon/tailmon and patamon, and that is cerubimon, im pretty sure there might be some mysteries and a good background story.

I actually have to raise an issue with armor = champion being official now when it comes to x-digimon. It's more of a nitpick than anything else though. An Armor level digimon's power has been shown to vary significantly by the digimon, some of them are on par with champions, some, ultimates, and some (read: Magnamon) are on par with megas, and Magnamon X is classified as a mega as far as I know...

Armor Digivolution of Hawkmon? If already done, how about Gatomon? Also, Magnamon (and other Armor-Digivolved Digimon that utilized the Digi-Egg of Miracles) is considered a Mega Level Digimon, mainly as it was able to combat Kimeramon (An Ultimate-Level Digimon), and was able to stand his own against WarGreymon in the Xros Wars Extras. Also it is confirmed in Digimon Links (The Mobile Digimon Game) that it is Mega-Level

I know it’s a bit late but I know a new moth Pokémon that can take out Mothmon its Frosmoth and the only reason why is because it’s the evolution of snom and he can beat anything so his evolution would definitely be a match for it
