Күн бұрынAfter a more experimental video, I'm back with a regular playlist as I promised. Today featuring my personal favorite Pokemon generation, gameplay wise, aswell as Ost wise, Unova!
I know for a fact that the overall opinions about Unova, especially game wise are widely different, but when it comes to music this generation doesn't miss at all and I feel that most people would agree with this take.
I'm pretty interested tho, what is youre favorite generation considering music? Let me know in the comments!

It didnt deserve the hate it got on release, these were really the best designed pokemon games ever. Best story, best sprite animation, very good music, best villains and personalities. Having a sequel is actually kinx of nice too.

This *IS* my childhood. When I listen to this, I’m transported back to when I’d come back home from school with sheer excitement and would sit there for hours playing Pokémon White/White 2 on my DSi XL.

I started with Gen 3 and “grew up” with Gen 4. But Gen 5 is the generation that truly captured my heart and is the one I always look back with the most fondness. Gen 5 truly was the peak of Pokemon

Even though Sinnoh is the most nostalgic, Unova, with both black and white as well as black and white 2, will always be my favourite pokemon games. The soundtrack is absolutely perfect, the characters and story the best in the series. And the memory of opening Black the day it released, and arrived, and unpacking the new cool pokemon games, is absolutely magical thinking back. Picking my first ever unova pokemon Snivy to be my starter. Encountering Patrat and Pidove which looked way too cool back then. I wasn't spoiled by anything, every step I took was blind and pure. Man I miss those days. Whenever they make a game based off of Unova again: I really hope they nail it just like the originals, although I don't think they'll ever reach that amazing product quality on a new game ever again.

Aspertia city theme 😭 Having Unova and Black&White as my first Pokémon game in 2010 was amazing, and it always shocked me how a lot of people didn’t like it. Keep up the amazing playlist fam

They still have good music in their newer games, but it doesn't feel the same because we didn't grow up with it.

@paoloh885 yea I know haha Area Zero and the battle with the AI professors were a banger. Just don't have that magical feel to them anymore, and you said it best, because we not kids anymore.

@@NeonX-rl6jj i personally think they still make the music they used to , but like how you people already said , we just didn't grew up with them , so the nostalgia goggles aren't there , the biggest example of this is sword and shield , the music in that game is great , but it would be much better if we were younger , that's why so many kids liked that game , bcz its a new experience for them , a brand new pokemon game that they can play for the first time :DD

@@NeonX-rl6jj for me the new music didnt hit as good just in general and its not a nostalgia thing, I grew up really into music alongside pokemon and while old music has a special place in my heart, the new generations music is just so compositionally different due to not being made with a little 2d game on a handheld being in mind. Pokemon's now 3d, and attempting to pass itself off as on par with the rest of the current gaming market, so they dropped what they were good at. Pixels and soundfonts. the indigo disks remixes of older music was good, but still i found the new music to generally be lackluster. even area zero, much as it gave a sense of depth to the area, it felt forceful with all the choirs and such. I think older pokemon games were more subtle about the magnitude of the area you're in being portrayed by its OST. I wouldn't say the musics bad though, just that their new composition style is different. old Pokemon music was actually surprisingly technical, and difficult to play.

@@keiraaaaaaaaaaaaaaIt’s all preference. But nostalgia does play a role indirectly most of the time. Just like how you like the older music, the generation that grew up with the newer games will feel the same sentiment down the road. It’s just how it is. Also old music on the ds didn’t even come close to pushing the limitations of sounds the Ds could produce. They did test the limits with the Gameboy however.

Thankfully I didn’t have any knowledge of the discourse that the Pokémon community had for Gen 5 back in the day. Pokémon Black was my second mainline Pokémon game and it holds a special place in my heart. The music and the story was fantastic! ^^

Im playing white 2 for my first time which already has a save and man.. this save has alot of stuff (mainly hacked) but its nice to experience gen 5 for my first time my favorite music/theme is aspertia coty, driftveil city, route 1 , the route next to the pokemon league uhh many more but i love gen 5… im glad my uncle showed me pokemon at a young age i love pokemon… hoenn is my favorite region… thank you for reading this and have a nice day :D and route 19 is my favorite and the surf theme too!! I love the wild battle, rare pokemon theme and elite four so many stuff i love from gen 5 oh! And castelia city so many…😭

Possibly my favorite thing about a bunch of the gen 5 ost is that many of them change so much. From characters you cn talk to in places like the village bridge to get a more complete song, to the speed of your movement changing how (and also if, since standing still means theyre not there) the drums roll in route 2, aswell as the different themes for different seasons. Its just so lovely, all of it.

I've always thought of Sinnoh being the ultimate nostalgia region. But listening to this really hit me like a ton of emotional bricks too! I never realised how big gen 5 was in my life. Such gems of games.

played red, then platinum, then unova games, so unbiased, this gen rocks, i rock with it and its better imo than any, the ost's are incredible, i made remixs of lots of em on my channel, the music made a real impact on me, phenomonal

It's amazing how a melody can bring back memories of what seems like a distant past, where you spent hours exploring new places, experimenting with a story that had never been told before, fighting legendary battles to be the best, searching for hidden objects with the dowser, doing secondary missions, filling the pages of the pokedex and one day you simply did not return because you had already completed everything and you moved on and years later you hear a melody that with a stroke of happiness and nostalgia brings you back. to a time that in retrospect didn't seem like much, but to be honest, you were happy and you didn't know it.

yeah i knew the moment i played it that gen 5 was great. this truly is nostalgic, even though as a unova fan i had it tough online dealing with genwunners and the like. offline, i was just having a blast. the buildup to the release of the games was so exciting, too... still remember visiting serebii religiously every day to catch any news on the games, how mindblown i was when the corocoro leaks came out, etc... simpler times huh..

Gen 5 came out September of 2010 in Japan. It wasn't until late November that a very slightly english patch of the game came out to download. Had that on my R4 and played it non-stop on the way to school (I was in my senior year of high school) and at home. Loved the game so much. So much so that when it finally came out in the US I bought it day 1 and played through it again and wasn't bored at all. The music, Pokemon, story everything about this game is perfect and reminds of the final months of my high school life. I want to relive those days one more time....

Muchos dicen que la música de XY es la mejor de la franquicia, otros que lo es la de los Mundo Misterioso... Y mira si , son extraordinarias pero para mi la mejor es sin ninguna duda la de la 5ta, se siente tan diferente a las demas generaciones y cosas como los detalles de los NPC con los instrumentos hacen que sea única , tiene temas tan brutales que acompañan su narrativa y sus mensajes y todos los temas de batallas son increíbles xd de echo, la considero fácilmente top 4 o 3 mejores bandas sonoras que e oído (después de alguas como la de Celeste , To The Moon o Undertale)

I bought Pokémon black for my older brother. He hated it and I never understood as a child since he was such an avid Pokémon fan. Looking up to him I always just thought Pokémon black was rubbish since he did. :( As a child I played it a tiny bit! I remember thinking Munna was so cool and cute and I would constantly run into lillipups!! He stopped playing around the dress up section and I loved the dress up game I played that constantly! However I still just diminished the game! As a child I didn’t have much of an opinion on it other then dress up fun! Pokémon cute! Since my brother disliked it so much I carried a negative view of the game :( It makes me sad that I disliked the game and that a lot of others also dislike gen5! I think gamefreak poured a lot of charm and care into this game that is sorely missed in later generations :( Playing it now though I love it!! It really feels like an adventure! All the starters are great and the music is phenomenal! The game has so much charm!! Pokémon black will always have a space in my heart! Thankyou for making this video!! :))

I had a pretty similar opinion towards b&w at first since the whole internet was ranting it, confused me tried to understand the hate and unnecesarry took over some opinions. Didn't took long for me to realize that my first impression of b&w (loving the game) was the only right one!

Nostalgia isn’t entirely based on very old things. Yes it has to do with the past, however it’s truly a sense of longing for a better time than that of the present.
