11 years old, spending like 2 hours getting, cooking and selling cooked lobsters in the batch of 100 each for like 30k, oh god that brings me back greatly.

Now I’m nostalgic as heck thank you. I don’t even want to know how much time I spent mining pure essence as a kid 😂

back in like 2006 or 7 all i ever wanted was an abyssal whip. i grinded out the attack level and made as much money as possible but never made enough because they were ridiculously expensive. one of my best friends surprised me on my birthday with a whip as a gift and i literally cried i was so happy. still one of the best gifts i’ve ever received in my entire life

i remember being so young playing runescape spending countless of hours on the game with my best friend and the entire time we barely accomplished anything

Back in Runecsape Classic, I remember mining for tons of coal and spending just as much time converting all the coal into certificates in Draynor. Eventually sold the certs for enough gold to get myself a full Rune set with a Rune 2h. Definitely one of my fondest memories of classic!

when someone in nice gear said "buying fising rod" or "buying 1 law rune" at a bank or something, i got so stressed out trying to trade him so I could maybe get the 1k. Once someone gave me 10k and my reaction was similar to your dchain clip. few years later grinding for a firemaking cape was a pretty good memory too.

I remember the dialup going out when my grandma got a call on the house phone and i died to scorpions for my full steel, this legend called steel str3 gave me another set of steel and we were friends for like 13 years, haven't heard from him in a while hope ur okay wherever you are😓

Just wanted to touch on the unid herb thing since I was really in to merchanting in those days. So the herb wouldn’t tell you what level you needed. It would just say you don’t have the correct level for this herb. Back then we didn’t really know about item IDs, but people figured out that the unids would stack differently in the bank. Players with high enough herblore levels would figure out which stacks of unids yielded valuable herbs like snapdragon, toadflax, and rannar. They’d fill their inventories completely except for a cash stacks and stacks of noted unids that they knew were high level. You’d see people saying buying unids 1k ea one stack at a time. If the trade screen declined and said not enough inventory space that meant it was a low value herb and they would tell you to move on to the next stack. This insured they got high value herbs for next to nothing.

I remember when I made 10k for the first time, thought I was the shit. Then I went over to my friends house where him, his brother and his dad had lvl 70s and I really realised the mountain that was RuneScape.

I started playing in 2005. I guess you could say iit got me addicted. Havent maxt but was close to it before eoc and just gave up, now got a few account on osrs but don't have time to play, but when I will, I sure will. Definetly geting my vote, started watching osrs youtubers starting with your channel. Love the content, keep it up.

i remember back in the day i was only a F2P noob, i was always grinding hill giants because i wanted the trimmed armors, specifically the saradomin trimmed because it was the most expensive. i remember feeling like such a baller when i was walking around the GE with sara trim, thinking i was the richest player in the game (i wasnt, big surprise)

My most nostalgic memories are in runescape classic fishing lobsters for money and the seemingly impossible dragon slayer quest, the feeling of walking into Varrock with a rune plate body was awesome. I wish more people recorded in the classic days

12 year old me, back when it was still runescape classic. Fishing lobsters on karamja, cooking them myself, then selling them to the people fighting in the wildy, before there was a ditch, north of varrock east bank. The road went straight up to the wilderness. People would buy cooked food so they could keep fighting each other. Lobsters went for 300 gp each.

I remember this one vividly. When OSRS came out people were using knives to train fast/cheap ranged, so my Weekends consisted of Friday -> Mining 2k Iron (at least), Saturday-> Smelting into Iron Bars, Sunday -> Turning Iron Bars into Iron Knives, Sell the Knives for 55-60gp each. I was making 1mil+ for a well planned weekend, I remember at some point I was Top 450 in the smithing Highscores and roughly Top 1000 in the Mining highscores. That's how I made my first ever green cash pile within a few months of OSRS coming out, I was really happy, because at the time having a green pile was huge. It gave me so much freedom, I remember I spent a whole couple of days scouting the grass region near the wall (West Varrock Bank), because that's where the biggest pieces of gear were being sold at the time. Even though it wasn't 2005-2006 anymore, people weren't min/maxing everything (2013), which made the nostalgic experience really legitimate even when doing it for the 2nd time in 2013.

Great vid, love these one looking back on the old days. My best money makers were definitely fletching longbows along with woodcutting, they were my first 2 99s back in 07 and I can't imagine doing the wc grind at magics near Lletya again... Keep up the great content!

Rargh, im not proud of this, I had 72 attack 70 defence and 92 strength and I wanted to KQ. So I hit up the forums and some rank 1000+ guy comes in full dragon to shanty pass in dragon set and black mask "Oh i was bored at slayer, are you sure your strong enough?" Me: "Yeh, I PK i know when to eat" I was so jelous of this 124 and his dragon I thought it must be nice being so rich, so he said "Ok, only 1 rule. We trade after every kill" So i went on RHQ and searched for drops.. 600 fire runes, I had them in my bank.. So i took them on 5 trips and I got a chain and i got so excited I typed "Chain!!" then deleted it and said fire runes. I sold it for 24m in fally park 2h later, all my friends from school didnt beleive me but I stole 2 more D chains this way in 2 weeks. My friends beleived the Phat and the ranger boots and D Chain. I was a god in school, it actually made me popular

D chain was 35 Mil and that was just bonkers money back then, and not much else to compare it to. What a time to be a player! Great video!

It started with making bow strings, to cutting yews and fishing sharks.. to grinding slayer to finally reach 85 for that covenant Abyssal Whip drop, taking on Jad with your heart racing through your chest.. until God Wars was released and getting a Bandos Hilt drop (then 40M), my 12 year old self felt on top of the world. This video is very nostalgic. Thanks for reminding me of my RS addiction btw Rargh.

A couple friends and I were deep into merchanting before the GE. We'd come to school with our notebooks full of items we've bought/sold, for what price, at what bank, on what world and at what time. Then we'd look for patterns and plan out our night and see who'd make the most profits and eventually who'd snag a whip first. For being 12-14 years old and being able to run our own little trading ring, it was mindblowing and the stonks were strong back then. If you played your cards right and were patient, you could make huge profits off each item. It felt like you mastered the art of the deal. Once the GE came and there was trade caps based off the GE price, you could only make money through volume and it just wasn't as rewarding.

I cried with this nostalgia, those were the good old days, no work no reponsibilities just playing runescape amigos!!!

The first step in a members world... Was something surreal as I've played the game for years before. addition of construction was also a big one, me and my mate stayed up past our bedtime to see the update... It was all ever so magical, I think that's the reason why I keep coming back to this game 16 years of playing it 🤟

Omg reminds me when I was just starting out I sat in lumbridge swamp collecting swamp tar for hours, or when I begged my mom to get me membership and farmed herbs from the zombies in draenor sewers. Definitely nostalgic sir very well done thank you

Love these style videos! I think you hit most of the methods I used to do; flax, woodcutting yews, running laws (I did this when osrs was re-released for the first couple weeks!). Though, I do remember killing iron dragons with chaos runes (and chaos gauntlets) in brimhaven, I hit the Dragon Plateskirt drop once, and I got a random event AS it dropped, and never picked it up. Sad times!

First time I ever played RS was when I was 7. Didn't know anything about the game but absolutely loved fishing. My brother used to pay me his allowance to fish on his account while he was busy. Best moneymaker I've ever seen.

I still play runescape to day on and off (recently made an ironman account after getting bored of my main). But it can't beats playing the game back in 2005-2006. My local library was always filled with other kids playing runescape at the time, and it was fun playing alongside with them!

Crossing that bridge straight into lumbridge cow pen and spending hours killing cows with a bronze sword to take those hides to crafters in al kharid and selling them for 100gp each, after killing goblins for that 10gp for the gate. Going and buying your first steel scimitar feeling like an absolute boss is my most nostalgic memory

Gotta love those old days, when I made the switch to grinding easy clues, got a zammy page and thought I was an absolute baller. That and selling fez hats from the fued to people who didn't know what they were... nostalgia.

Just the memories of being a clueless child, unaware of how to use the internet to learn more about the game, walking around lost in RS figuring things out for myself. Now I tend to watch guides for literally everything lol, everything just was so new and exciting back then! A feeling that cant be recreated! Wont stop me from trying though ;)

I used to chop yews at Varrock Castle in f2p for hours on end and use the money from 1k yew logs to buy full rune and a rune scimmy. Then, I tried to pk in the wildy with lobsters I fished and cooked myself, failed miserably every time, and rinsed and repeated. Back then, it seemed so important even though all I ever did net-net was train my wc, but it was my own personal adventure, and that alone made it all worth it :). One of my favorite memories was playing castle wars back in the day. They would have like 10+ lobbies going, going into those caves and causing rockfalls, to rushing the tower and getting hit with ancient magic trying to escape with the squad with the flag. I also remember seeing a max 99 defence pure, super low level, and having 10+ guys trying to hit him that were 80+ levels higher than him and he was just tanking them all and was able to get the flag was crazy.

One of my friends made millions buying high level Unids for 1k each in W2 Fally and selling them for massive profit. Good times

I remember when Queen Black Dragon first came out, and it was the first time I was high level enough to really go hard at a boss, and in the first week I obtained two Dragon Kiteshields. That was the coolest thing ever, they were brand new and so expensive, definitely wasn't as excited as those two at KQ, but as it was up there for me in terms of RS memories.

I actually ended up getting my grandfather into RS2 back in 05, shortly after he retired and needed a hobby. I was never all that great with making money back then, but that's literally all he ever wanted to do in the game. He'd make a few mill and just trade it all to me whenever I needed some cash. He still plays to this day. His method was merchanting feathers. Buying in bulk for 2 to 4 each and then selling for 8 to 10 each. I'm trying to get him into flipping at the GE, but it doesn't seem to be his thing. For some reason, he loves woodcutting now. He doesn't even fletch the logs, but his woodcutting is higher than mine will probably ever be.

Back in the day when construction came out, I ran a business buying up logs and turning them into planks. Planks were in super high demand at the time and it's how I got my first whip when they were like 15m+.

I tried to start OSRS again, but some things are meant to stay in the past. Even tho I started playing back in 2003 and took it up till 2009! But damn, this vid hit me straight in the heart, boy did I like it!

back in 2005 probably 5th grade for me. My friend and I communicated on the house phone speaker phone option while we played runescape. We both had fancy SBC global internet and were able to talk and play online at the same time.

I remember riding my bike to super target and paying cash for the 3 month membership card! P2p money-making was off the chain, I picked so much flax and fishes so many lobbies at catherby! Such good memories!

I used to catch dragon implings when they first came out, and I was one of the only players to do this. So, I got rich extremely fast before the bots caught onto this method. Everyone thought I bought my money, but I was making over 2 mil an hour catching implings back in 2007. That was huge money back then.

Definitely Green Dragons on the Wildy (after PK'ing was gone) always worried about that rev knight killing me. Good times, d long served me well...

3 years late to the party but nostalgia every time. Getting picked up by someone while mining iron to mine iron for them. Back and forth from dwarven mine to fally east bank, 05 or 06 pre-GE, 1,000 iron 0re for like 20k gp. I thought I had made BANK, plus I was training mining anyway. How upset I was when the GE was released and iron ore immediately shot up to like 200 gp each, 10 times what I sold mine for.

I remember doing every one of these methods. The first couple weeks that dragon boots were released was crazy for me. they were selling like 3m a pair and for some reason they were incredibly common.

Hey Rargh, I am very glad that you have decided to go full time making videos with Link and I am excited for all the content! HOWEVER A LOT of people and myself are extremely disappointed at you and more so with Link because of no “then we fight” videos expecting 1 video from the each of you. I no joke wait the whole after long work days for Thursday to come by and no “then we fight” videos :( I understand that there might be a week or two off because of illness or issues and I completely understand. Just know that if you want to become more successful than you are now, please stay consistent especially with the “then we fight” episodes because I could tell that some people are turning away to the lack of the episodes. My advice to you both.

My first set of rune came from flax and ess! Also this one is more niche I think but I got my first whip from cutting mahogany logs I can't recall the exact price but I would cut them in the hardwood grove and bank them for the 10 sticks each.

I can remember hopping on with my friends chopping willows at Draynor trying to get 99. Back in the days when having a dragon axe was somewhat of a flex. None of us ever got to 99, and now I'm the only one who still plays.

Yup. W54 for law running. And actually, the first few months Pure ess came out it was worth 250-300. I remember because I grinded tens of thousands.

I loved this video. I miss the conversations I’d have with people in the flax fields, didn’t matter what world you were in people were picking flax. When I was a kid I earned by first whip picking flax and I thought I was a god lmao.

I used to buy god armor sets by individual pieces then sell the full set for a bit of profit. Finally got enough to buy a santa in the 3.5-4m range. Held onto it for years and sold when Santas hit 100m in RS3. Big regret not holding onto it, but wouldn't trade that fun for the world! W1 Varrock bank = home.

But my best money maker after having a mill or 2 was flipping barrows and whips on forums. Buy cheap on forums and sell at varrock west bank. Ended up with 25m thought I was a beast. Back in Runescape Classic, being able to fish raw sharks was a massive flex. My modest 100 raw shark certificates (1 certificate being 5 of an item, so 500 sharks) wasn't actually very much money, but it was a huge grind for the time. I thought I was queen of the world.
