@@Jugdjay I still think 15 years ago is not that long ago it feels that way but there's still much older Operating Systems including the Linux/Unix based Operating System which is nearly 10x older than Windows right now and me being 31 is still not that old being a 15 year old was not that long ago to me.

@@StarryInkArt Goodluck Microsoft doesn't listen to their customers apparently I switched to Linux using an Arch distro you can get a similar theme that LOOKS like Aero and won't notice the difference or dual boot Windows 7 and use security software and ditch Steam for emulators they still work after End of Life there's also specific game clients working after End of Life other than Steam someone should make Lutris work on Windows 7 and find a bypass to get Steam games working on proton as long as they have a security software.

I worked as a help desk technician in 2021 for an MSP, and I had to reformat several Windows 7 machines and install Windows 10. I remember looking at that operating system and all sorts of memories flooding my brain. I miss when Windows tried to make their OS feel futuristic and clean instead of an advertising billboard

Plus, the OS really felt friendly and inviting. Win10/11 looks cold, coloreless, and unfriendly. Hell even the logo lost it's iconic multiple colors. Same thing happened to the Office software.

Everyone should dual boot Linux with older Windows in the future it maybe the closest thing to bringing back the nostalgia Firefox and Waterfox are still supporting Windows 7 with security updates beyond End of Life don't rely on Chrome Google sucks and is a privacy nightmare.

As a 32 year old that grew up with all systems from 95 I would've never thought that Vista/7 would be of anything nostalgic value but as soon as this video started I instantly travelled to 2011 when I had my first notebook with Windows 7. Back then it felt like amazing. I still have it working and I use it to connect with my old BMW. I just realised it has been 13 years and that I am getting old. I am grateful however for all those tech memories I could live and witness first-hand :) Thanks for bringing those good memories back!

It's like the past is calling back to us it really is I am running on a Linux the closest thing to Windows 7 is running on a Cinnamon flavored Linux Operating System Steam works and emulators work better than on Arch Linux and you will feel straight at home it gives off Windows XP vibes more than anything I might multi dual boot I got 256gb of extra SSD Card storage and might be turning this computer into a Linux gaming machine Windows is dying because Microsoft REFUSES to listen to what their customers want. Also update if you want a Windows XP type feeling please do check out a Linux XFCE Operating System you will get nostalgia trips real fast the closest I will recommend using to a Windows XP Linux counterpart is Linux Lite.

Grew up going to the office job with my grandma listening to this sound every time we got settled in for the day, loved hearing it. All these years later, it still feels like home. 🥺 I miss those days, and I want an old box computer just to have for myself someday!

Fun Fact: Windows 10 still has the Windows 7 start-up sound, but Microsoft turned the start-up sound off by default. To enable it, right-click the sound icon on the right of your taskbar and click the "Sounds" option. Then, a pop-up should appear with the sound settings. Click the "Play Windows Start-up sound" box and click "Apply" and exit. The sound should play the next time you turn on your computer :] Edit: If there's no sound icon, click the arrow (^) icon on the taskbar and you should see it there.

Windows 7 is still and always my favorite operating system. I was expecting the next one to be longhorn/xp samsung... or Windows 8.. who knows.

Windows 10 is fair enough and Steam is still working in fact I can pop onto it from Linux and play them right now just in case Valve pulls a fast one on Windows 10 I've taken the liberty of dual booting to future proof from future upgrades from Microsoft you shouldn't NEED a TPM2.0 just to upgrade Windows 10 is easier to upgrade to. Just use a security software and you SHOULD be fine if I have to use Linux for Steam games and emulate them I will Linux is strengthening with Steam games and it's possible Valve will be supporting Linux rather than Windows in the near future you might want to make the switch now.

The first time my family got a computer in the house, there was this wallpaper on the screen, an island with some trees on it and a boat at the side so this really triggers my nostalgia for that old time.

Only good thing Microsoft ever did for Vista was default the insane resource heavy Aero settings, such a nostalgic perfect style for frutiger aero back then. Absolutely beautiful and still more beautiful than today's garbage corporate minimal style.

The first 8 minutes (in the light) appear to be Windows 7, while the much longer 53 minutes that follow are Vista. The music is also different. I really wish there was a proper, full version of the 7 part

I did some more digging into classic Windows wallpapers, and turns out the wallpaper you're using here (the island, three palm trees, boat off to the left) is actually a Windows XP wallpaper, not Windows 7 or Vista. It's called "Azul", which judging from the name of the video, you probably know 😁 So it's a wallpaper from XP, with auroras from Vista. I think 7 deserves better 😄

You can still run Windows 7 on a virtual machine if you accept the challenge it might be safer to do than running it locally unless you want to risk a dual boot.

Is it too soon to ask for a Win10 ambience? It might be not as good as the older systems, but with the eminent death of the win10 support i feel like we should look back and remember all the memories we had with that OS. (Although, it uses almost all sound effects from vista/win7)

We've got till October 2025 with Windows 10, so we can still dig our heels a little bit longer to not go to the Always-Online Windows 11. Still a sad bummer that we all had to leave Windows 7 in 2020 (for those who go online), felt like the last good Microsoft OS, that wasn't data hungry, with its beautiful aesthetics. Only moved because of needing DX12 support. :(

I really think Vista and 7 should have been separate... sure, they may share some sounds, but aesthetically they're completely different. Vista had the aurora look, while 7 was peak aero

i know it is windows 8/8.1 and windows 10 and windows 11 has wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy way way way way to oversimplified sounds for it to be in the last 2 seasons
