I'm not sure it was so much talent as it was Devine music channeled through him.either God love him and blessed him or he made a deal with the other side regardless he was one special person.i like rewatching his performances

You are both so wrong. It's hard work. He spent most of his time awake with a guitar in his hand. Musicians despise it when people just chalk it up to talent. You can have passion for something but it's the work you put in that sets you above like SRV.

SRV oozes soul. His live performances are legendary. The band Double Trouble was phenomenal laying down the groove for SRV to create memorable solos. In this song he does a guitar switch most people miss because the change is so smooth. This song was written and dedicated to a good friend Charlie Wirz who was guitar shop owner who died of a sudden heart attack. RIP SRV. Your fans miss you.❤🙏🎸

Song facts; "Life Without You" was a song Stevie wrote after the untimely death of his great friend and mentor Charley Wirz. the song shows his love for Charley and how much he truly missed him. The White Stratocaster Vaughan played that was fitted with Danelectro Lipstick Tube Pickups was made by Wirz with the help of Stevie's Guitar Tech Rene Martinez.

@sylviapotter6328

You have just been introduced to the GOAT of all GOAT'S .Stevie Ray Vaughan was born in Dallas Texas on October 3,1954, he has a brother named Jimmie Vaughan who is 3 yrs older then Stevie Ray. I hear alot of people say that Jimi Hendrix family gave Stevie Ray Jimi Hendrix Wah-Wah pedal but Jimmie Vaughan said that he was playing at a venue along with Jimi Hendrix, Jimi Hendrix needed a Wah-Wah pedal so Jimmie Vaughan let Hendrix borrow his,. Hendrix broke Jimmie Vaughan's Wah-Wah pedal so Hendrix gave Jimmie Vaughan one of his. This song Life Without You was written by Stevie Ray Vaughan for his friend and mentor Charlie Wirz who died of a heart attack in 1985. Charlie made this white guitar along with Stevie Ray's guitar tech Rene Martinez in 1983 Stevie named the guitar Charlie. It's got a Hawaiian girl on the back and the heel plate says To Stevie Ray Vaughan more in 84' Stevie wrote this song and released it in 1985 right after Charlie's death. Jimmie Vaughan was the first to get an electric guitar and Stevie Ray loved it, when Jimmie would leave the house Stevie would play Jimmie's guitar, on Stevie Ray's 7th birthday he got a toy guitar with cowboys and Indians on it but still learned to play Wine Wine Wine and Thunderbird by The Night Caps (on a toy) Stevie Ray joined a band called The Chantones in 1964 and he had his first gig at a roller rink so Jimmie gave Stevie Ray his electric guitar but Stevie Ray left the band when the singer wanted them to start wearing makeup on stage. Jimmie Vaughan is a great guitarist In his own right and had a band called The Fabulous Thunderbirds and Jimmie also played guitar on many of Stevie Ray's albums. Stevie Ray always said I don't play with finesse I play like I'm breaking out of jail 😂. The great Blues artists Albert King was Stevie Ray's godfather. In 1977 Stevie Ray put a band together called The Triple Threat Reuve and they had a woman singer but on June 24,1979 Lou Ann Barton left The Triple Threat Reuve for a solo career so Stevie Ray picked up the vocals. Drummer Chris Layton joined The Triple Threat Reuve on September 10,1978 and in 1980 Stevie changed the bands name to Double Trouble. Basses Tommy Shannon knew Stevie Ray.when they joined a band called Krackerjack when Stevie was a teen and joined Double Trouble on June 23,1981, Reese Wynans joined Double Trouble on keyboard 4 yrs after Tommy on June 7,1985. Stevie Ray's career only span 7 years but in only 7 years Stevie accomplished so much and left a great legacy starting with his first album Texas Flood that was released on June 13,1983. Stevie won many awards on December 13 1983 he was voted Guitar Player Magazine's Best New Talent, Best Electric Blues Guitar Player and Best Guitar Album with Texas Flood, Stevie Ray and Jeff Beck are the only Triple Award Guitarist ever. On November 8,1984 Stevie Ray won a W.C.Handy National Blues Award, Entertainer Of The Year and Instermental Of The Year. Stevie was the first white man to win either. Stevie Ray was the first musician to be inducted into The Austin Music Hall Of Fame in 1982, in 2000 he was inducted into The Blues Hall Of Fame, in 2015 Stevie was inducted into The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Sadly Stevie Ray never got to enjoy a # 1 hit, 2 months after his death his song Crossfire went to #1. On August 26,1990 Stevie Ray, Buddy Guy, Robert Clay and Stevie Ray's brother Jimmie Vaughan went to East Troy Wisconsin to open 2 shows for Eric Clapton, Stevie Ray came down from his hotel room and told Jimmie and the band he had a weird dream that he died and he was looking down at all these people crying, Stevie said although the dream was weird but he felt at peace. On August 27,1990 after Eric Clapton finish the last show Stevie Ray, Buddy Guy, Robert Clay and Jimmie got on stage with Eric Clapton and the last song Stevie Ray Vaughan performed was Sweet Home Chicago by Robert Johnson. Stevie Ray boarded a helicopter on a dark foggy night with a pilot who had just failed his test on using the gages for that helicopter, he never flew at night or that helicopter, he should have never been flying that night especially a amazing famous musician like Stevie Ray Vaughan. The pilot hit the side of a mountain right after takeoff and everyone on board were killed instantly. OMG! I'm so sorry I didn't mean to write so much, I tried to make it as short as possible but I thought you might like reading a little of Stevie Ray's story obviously it's just a dent. I don't watch documentaries I only watch interviews of Jimmie and Stevie Vaughan about their life, I think that's the only way to get a more accurate story. Loved the reaction thanks

The Jimi Hendrix Estate gave SRV Jimi's actual Wah Wah pedal in 1981 I believe because he was so influenced and a hardcore Hendrix fan, so when he plays the Wah... it's Hendrix's authentic Wah sound! Although there is zero Wah pedal in this song. lol

He named his white guitar 🎸 Charley after his friend who passed away suddenly. SRV usually. played this song with his guitar 🎸 Charley. Charley was a white custom-made "hardtail" (non-tremolo, fixed bridge) "Stratocaster-style" guitar built by Charley Wirz, a friend of Vaughan's and owner of Charley's Guitar Shop in Dallas. Wirz built it in late 1983, and placed a neck plate on it engraved "To Stevie Ray Vaughan, more in '84". He lost a tooth. 11:18 Notice he keeps looking down and around for it. Says to off screen people, I lost a tooth , sorry. He didn't drop his pic, he was adjusting his equipment due to the guitar change.

While this song was during the lost years, no judgement..as he included Life without you in every Live set , the speech part of song, continued to change, and it was always from the heart, inspiring, and just damn bad ass! Out of all the SRV videos, this is the performance I like least. I don’t know why this video is recommended to showcase SRV’s talent. The guitars are out of tune, Stevie performance is altered by his habits. OKaaaaaaa!!
